You can get decent (50k dps) gear for around 15-20 million tops nowadays, which is one semi-decent legendary drop. Just farm what you can until you get SOMETHING you're able to sell for that kind of cash, or slowly build it up if nothing drops and get as much crit/critdmg (favorize crit because spawning cyclones does wonders for clearing a huge amount of mobs in the duration of one serenity) as possible while trying to maintain around 30k life and 500-600 ar and at 50k+ dps a3 will be a breeze, with the cookie cutter BoH - Blind - Serenity - TC - Overawe - Cyclone build.

profile Sitting at 5.3k armor and 480AR (with owe). with a mid-end echoing fury (no critdmg or lifesteal, only socket) and a blaurgh offhand for 2.8% lifesteal. Having some pretty good survivabilty with those stats, purely because of the damage output. did some experimenting, and I can't for the life of me drop STI, I just die insanely fast. I wanted to use TR so bad instead of BoH or BF, but I am unable to do so yet. Then I remembered that my resists are pretty low, and I should maybe try to gearswitch into pure AR without OWE. It's probably getting nerfed in one way or another in the future anyway, and with a measly 3.8k armor without STI or enchantress I don't seem to be able to tank as much as I would want to. on the other hand, with a simple calculation of not-too-insane AR across every item, it seems to get me at about the same amount of AR as I am now with OWE. + Show Spoiler + head = 40 shoulders = 70 chest = 60 gloves = 50 bracers = 40 legs = 60 feet = 50 amulet = 30 ring = 30 ring = 30 sum = 470, should be enough to drop OWE. seeing as some of my next upgrades are going to be vile wards, natalya boots, chest with AR etc, it seems to me like a good idea to start just dropping fire resist all together and go the AR route and free up a passive slot. Did anyone already do the switch to AR gear and dropped OWE? How has it been going for you guys? I'm thinking of taking Exalted Soul in the future instead of OWE. I'll probalby be playing monster lvl 2-3, and trying to make TR work, mobs will be a bit tougher so it should be doable to fill up to 200+ish spirit and use it on TR to gain some more speed. Also, for the monks that tried the PTR. is dropping STI viable with 500ish resists for another passive? Beacon of ytar, chant of resonance for more out of combat spirit?

Dropping STI really depends on what MP you are running, I was sitting ~75k unbuffed, and highest a3 MP I could do was 5. Beyond that stuff like phasebeasts/golgor/tremor get into 3 shot range, and I can't really handle that. At like MP1-2 though, you could probably drop STI and be okay(maybe, I have like 750-800 all resists and like 4.5k armor after STI on PTR)

A streamer told me to buy a sick weapon instead of set items and such, do you agree? My profile And if I do get a weapon should it be Echoing Fury?

If you already have Inna's Pants, then it seems kind of silly to not at least buy a second piece of Inna's for the set bonus. Also, the four-piece Inna's set bonus is very underestimated. It lets you permanently keep Sweeping Wind up without worrying about it ever dropping. This lets you set up an amazing sweeping wind at the start of a run, and assuming you don't die, keep it up for the whole run. Because Sweeping Wind takes a snapshot of your DPS when you first use it, you can change all your skills and passives to things that provide a flat dps bonus (like Blinding Flash's 30% bonus, and the 10% bonus of one of the runes in Inner Sanctuary), as well the doubled attack speed from a flying dragon, and therefore get a ridiculous sweeping wind for the rest of the run. Then just change all your skills and gear back to your normal build, and run like normal. Perhaps use a macro to press your sweeping wind button every 9 seconds.

Sounds nice, but unfortunately the Inna's Glory I have is from the Legacy patch, so I don't think they will stack with the new Inna's items :/? I will keep it in mind though, sounds like a sweet build if I ever get up to 4 Inna's pieces. Thanks ![]()

Since they are, you probably can't afford to get a full set of 4 Inna's pieces, and instead the streamer was probably right - just get a sick weapon. I'd also suggest putting magic find on as much of your gear as you can without compromising your dps/tank too much - it makes a huge difference in terms of drops and how often you get legendaries. Make sure your follower has magic find as well, on all their pieces including the weapon. (the MF weapons are Sun Keeper and The Grand Vizier. If you're on a budget, Blade of Prophecy is decent.)

For "Shenlong's Fist of Legend", battlenet item list says +2 random properties but for all the ones I find in the AH, each time I can only find 1 additional property... (and yes I'm aware it can reroll an existing stat) Same thing for "The Fist of Az'Turrasq". Anyone know why ?

It's a well known issue with game guide saying more random prop than actually gets rolled. Whether its a typo or a nefarious plot to slowly patch/fix stuff so better items get out into the economy so people use the RMAH is anyone's guess! :-) 1.05 ptch notes only list the following fixed random rolls/new items to spend $ on heh Mara's Kaleidoscope can now correctly roll 3 random affixes in addition to its 3 fixed affixes Fixed an issue with Nagelring and Unity legendary rings which caused them to not drop

Your weapons seem decent, I would focus on some other pieces. You have 0 dex on your chest! You could easily add like 100 dex there and up your DPS by 1000. Also the ring with only attack speed can be easily upgraded for a couple million although you may want to wait post patch. You should sacrfice a bit of defense on the helm and get something with crit chance, that will up your damage a lot. You also need some crit chance on your bracers. If you are somehow committed to that chest, at least switch out the amethysts for emeralds and up that dps. Seems like you're too concerned about survivability at the cost of a lot of DPS. For example, look at my character. I probably have like 200k less EHP than you, way crappier weapons, but am doing more damage and only die maybe 3-4 times per act 3 run (keep depths, siegebreaker, cydea, azmo). For some reason my battle.net profile link isn't working. http://www.diabloprogress.com/hero/alqahira-1183/Zoroaster/4934941 EDIT: I would say that is a total of about 30 million worth of gear on my character? Maybe a bit more. Anyway, you have tons of room to improve your non-weapon slots. EDIT 2: Bnet profile link. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/alqahira-1183/hero/4934941

Just finished Act 2 Inferno with only 16k hp and 16k damage, and only died twice. Very satisfying. More than Wizard and Demon Hunter. Edit: at the guy above. There are a lot of things that you can improve on. To me it seems like your resistances are too low, and you should definitely try to increase your Critical Hit chance. You can get a lot on your Amulet (8% or so) and your gloves (8-10%). Also maybe add some movespeed to your boots? I'm not sure if it's troubling you, but I really like my extra movement speed. Another suggestion is to add some gear with resistances to something specific and use One With Everything as a passive. It will boost your survivability by a lot.

Today I did a run with only Blinding Flash and it seemed pretty safe too. So I would assume you can do A2 with Hard Target and a couple defensive abilities. Just watch out for things like mummy corpse poison clouds, wasps and the berzerker smash attack and of course ground effects will hurt with your low resists. But some improvements you could look for: bracers without crit are cheap and boots without runspeed are cheap. So you could look there to up your resistances. You can also pare back on some vitality if stuff is still too expensive - most monks seem to sit around 30k.
