Hi. So I just came back to the game after a little hiatus. Decided to play my barb instead of my DH. Was fortunate enough to have a friend help me out with an IK set, I sold off a lot of my DH stuff and have got myself a nice little budget barb now, but I'm confused on where I should upgrade next, specifically weapon.

Anyways, my plan right now is to maximize my paragon level to at least the ~50 range before I start really focusing on upgrades. I plan on farming mp0-1 alkazier runs. I've been doing mp5 keywardens to farm keys, which I do at reasonable pace to hopefully get a good hellfire ring. I have some questions though.

- I have about 40 million gold right now. Which slots would be my best bang for the buck? I think my offhand is ok, but my MH definitely could be better. I've also been thinking of getting the 31% xp helm and a 100% CD emerald in my offhand.
- Is it worth farming keys and get a carry on mp8+ to get hellfire rings or are they not worth it?

Your main damage dealer rtlw hasn't changed (in regards to off hand dps) so it's certainly not required. I'd get a simple pair of rare pants with as much str and vit as you can afford (2 sockets) with 75+ all res or depth diggers with similar stats. See how 6% ls feels after you make upgrades and up your dps. If that isn't enough you can always use bloodthirst passive instead of brawler. Both your rings could use replacing. You need more strength overall - how you get it is up to you but your ik belt and helm can both by upgraded by 50-75 strength each pretty cheaply.

After a certain threshold wouldn't a Sword main head become better then a Axe/Mace?

Here is my line of reasoning.
After a certain gear threshold 5% more crit chance isn't going to feel like such a big deal, you already get a ton from gear and WoTB, yes the 5% crit chance scales great if you have 400% crit damage, however a sword increases all your damage by 15%.

So while the 5% crit would increase your damage those 5% times when you crit, the sword would increase all your damage, even when you don't crit, and also increase your crit damage by another 15%. That feels to me like it will out weigh the 5% crit chance.

It feels like that case of when you are leveling and using square gems, up until you get a certain crit chance and a good damage weapon, the red gems are better because it just flat out boosts your damage, but once you reach level 60 with a good 1k + damage weapon then green gems become flat out better.
