i would start with gems. 1. gem on weapon, 2. gem on helm should be red, 3. gems on everything else. most important is gem on weapon though. you can add 55% CD just with the gem (prob around 20M), or 45% for like 6M.

I would say your pants are definitely the weakest link in your gear. If I recall, you can find pants with 130+ int, 2 sockets, 70 AR, 60 vitality, and even something else useful like armor, physical resist, etc. for 2-3 million. I would definitely make that your priority. Then obviously all your int gems should go up to star topazes (46 int). Your belt could be a lot better too, and I think should only be a few million for more int, vit, and AR.
Good luck!

You can find much better rings for <2-3m if you pay attention to the AH. Look for 4.5CC trifecta with some avg dmg, and check every couple of hours until you find something nice. Hellfire ring + leorics is optimal for leveling, but a dps ring in one slot with HF in the other is good until you can afford a leorics.
And yes, gems, some upgrades there would be very efficient, particularly emerald for your weapon.

I'm starting a new wizard after quitting for months.. Is there a way to get powerlvled on d3?
|
through gear, get yourself a hellfire ring, leorics signet and a cains set. massive xp bonus with all that... ur stats will suffer though, just stick to mp0.

There is a market for trading gold for powerleveling. Try asking in chat.

dun got gold. I suppose no one here wants to do it out of kindness? US server

there is a "Looking For Group" chat channel. they may help you there. i have done it for free before with horrible results i might say....never give a mouse a cookie.

Hey all,
I just finally got back into D3 after all the big updates, and decided my old wizard is where I want to pick things back up again. I have very low paragon. Right now I am wondering what gear I should upgrade first? Also, I have done some research on builds so my build now seems like a mix of a few common ones. What build should I be using for exp farming mp 0? Also, with my gear what build is good for item farmig? I am very low on cash so exp runs are slow since I'm picking up and selling everything and drops seem to suck. But, since I came back I have made a bit of gold and gotten my helm, weapon, and source for less than 1 mill. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The sustained Archon build is what you want. With glass cannon/magic weapon/spark flint you'll be over 100k and going pretty quickly through MP0. To streamline things, only pickup rares with a reasonable chance of being sellable; ilvl63 1h, jewelry and legendaries. Even from just dropped gold you will get enough cash pretty quickly to upgrade your dps pretty quickly. Look at a triumvirate source to help with dps, the elemental dmg bonus is huge on a non-elemental "black" weapon like yours.

Eschaton,
Thanks for the tip. Had a few good runs with an archon build I found on the forums. I do have some downtime though when I can't find a good pack, which is pretty annoying. I guess I need to figure out a better exp route. Anything else I should upgrade right away besides my source? I thought my source was pretty good for 400k. Anything else that I could get to help streamline archon, and maybe help me gear for a CM/WW build for higher MP later on?
Thanks again!

What's a good leveling build? I'm currently lvl 44 and am focusing on +xp gear to level up as fast as possible.

Is there anything better than magic missile:charged blast for single target dps? I find it lackluster.
I run at MP10 (again for the extra xp) but perhaps I should drop that down a bit? If I run the glass cannon passive I am way too squishy against most trash mobs.
Thanks for any tips.

Thanks for any tips. i thought the best skill was electrocute with chain lightning rune. i got a relatively high dps weapon with level red. and just speed blasted through everything
meteor/blizzard/hydra are also pretty good dps skills
single target... i used ray of frost/disintegrate x:

ok thx. Yeah should've figured mp10 wasn't a good idea. Just fun reaching level 2 before the end of the first quest and I just left it there. :D

Mp10 on hell difficulty is boss once you're 50 hehe. Have someone who breezes through ~MP0-1 inferno take you through MP10 hell. Should only take like ~45mins to ding 60 doing that, no joke! Then you get to start over with leveling the slower way for paragon

Thanks again! You might think of snagging a pair of Fire Walkers for your boots. Getting 155-160 Int and 70 All Res gives you similar DPS and slightly better defense plus the ground burning effect makes Archon builds run smoother because you can just run through doors and most breakable objects instead of having to pause and fire off the disintegration beam.
Also, picking up some All Resistance on your bracers shouldn't be too expensive (though you will eventually want to upgrade to CC Lacuni's for a CM/WW build.)
|
firewalkers are nice for that but really the arcane blast will open doors for u at 0 animation cost, i would rather use some ice climbers or zuni trails for the dps.
lacunis are really only necessary for cm if you need the ias ,either to drop it on some jewlery to get cd or to hit 3 aps. If not you are probably better off just stacking it in the typical places and using sick mitigation rare bracers. good int, ar, armour, cc lacunis are just too expensive for 95% of the playerbase.
something like int, vit, str, armour, ar,cc. is most of the time the best option as u need to pump the mitigation.

Hello,
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Zen5034-1241/hero/6223873
Back again, after getting quite a few upgrades.. I figure I should be looking for a Vile Ward and/or Witching Hour next? I can take on mp7 elite packs pretty handily, but I have a lot of problems taking on single target elites and Keywardens. Is this something that can be solved with higher attack speed and crit chance?
I would also like to incorporate Meteor into the build somehow, but unsure if that would necessitate getting more stuff with +Max Arcane/Arcane on Crit or if swapping Evocation for Astral Presence would be enough.
Thanks for input/advice!

Hello, I'm casually playing a cm/ww wizard ( http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Kevski-2408/hero/4591923 ) and have no idea what I should upgrade right now.
I've read the thread about the build which says you should have around 18 arcane power per hit (minimum) - at the moment I only have nine, but I don't know which piece to replace.
Can anyone give me advice on that?
Thanks in advance!
(edit: The build isn't quite updated yet, I now use Time Warp instead of Stretch Time, Cold Snap instead of Bone Chill, Diamond Shards instead of Crystal Shell and Pinpoint Barrier instead of Prismatic Armor)
