Still working on gear for inferno, just got to the butcher last night, but only made one attempt. Ias is indeed very strong, but you got to be carefull if you have sharpshooter activ. Always double check your items, especially those with + max crit dmg

Well, that "damage" rating is really deceptive, since you're obviously not standing and firing 100% of the time. It's possible for a DH with 20k damage to massively outdps a DH with 30k damage, if the latter DH is all attack speed/crit and the fight requires a ton of kiting/killing weaker monsters, respectively. Raw damage and dex are still the best stats for dps, I try to take those if the "damage" rating is close.

I would say less than a million though because I try to grab the cheapest stuff when it gets put up. On May 24 2012 23:37 nihoh wrote: How much does the Resist help? I have nearly the same specs (no lets not lie, much weaker cos it's hard to close without respecing.), around 15K DPS (no dynamic crit) and 22K HP. I'm on Act 2 but I'd like to farm Pudge with semi-ease rather than getting oneshot to raise some money for AHing some better gear. My resist is only around 150 or 180 on average. Well in Act 2 I get 2-shot and it's pretty close to being 3-shot so with like 400+ all resists, few hundred more armor, and a few thousand more HP, I can see Act 2 being easily tanked.

How far is 10 yards approximately? Is using the steady aim passive worth it, or do enemies run up to you too fast often? Is vault still a useful skill at higher difficulties, or is it not worth the slot at higher difficulties? I love vaulting around and it's a good escape mechanism, but I don't see that many high level streams use it.

if you hold the control key while mousing over a skill/rune it'll tell you the exact damage numbers

I'll search about the distances thing. EDIT: http://diablo.incgamers.com/gallery/data/632/medium/D3_Distance_Map.jpg This can't be right, can it?? Is 10 yards really that short? There were also some posts saying that Fan of Knives has a 10 yd range so thats a good reference, and I agree that that 10 yd range is quite short. If so, then damn, steady aim is pretty much an auto pick passive.

This is the build I'm using in Act 2 Hell post SS nerf, it works pretty damn well. The only packs is doesnt work well agaisnt are Invulnerable and some desecrator champion packs and Waller/mortar packs with some shitty luck, against everything else it just wrecks. The amount of stuns I get is just really good and I only have 2.10 attack speed, 1h bow would be ideal for this. You have to manouvre yourself a bit against mortar packs and the lacuni who throw bombs. I have 19k HP and only 8800 DPS btw.

Nether tentacles does full damage per tick and thus is better, plain and simple. Until Blizzard nerfs it because it does too much damage on bosses. i am slowly getting my foot on act 2 farm with this build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#WRYVXT!eTX!cZZcZZ i farm mostly the oasis and the desert, but a snake pack that is invulnerable and invisible 2/3 of the time is really annoying. frost arrow and the stun trap is enough against most stuff, naturally fast enemies with fast attributes have to be skipped. i should try out the stun bola, didnt have time yet.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#liVThe!ebT!aZZZbc All through NM, and for at least the first half of Hell in my current gear I can just hold right mouse in the direction we're moving. I didn't take vault or Tactical Advantage because they have to keep up, and I skipped Steady Aim because against the later elite packs, I can get into melee to finish them with the Shuriken Cloud. It's pretty lulzy, but it's good at what it does.

I went pure dex/dmg while we still had pre-nerf smokescreen, but now I find myself doing some weird combination of dex/vit/resistances.... Are you guys using rings for aspd/dex/+min dmg?

I wanted to post my build that has helped keep me alive until inferno act 1 without using smokescreen at all (will be starting act 2 later today, see how it goes). For some of the abilities I alternate between 2 runes depending on the situation, so I'll just type them here, instead of trying to work out how to use the fancy us.blizzard.net thing in the builds in the OP: FD's 'Staying Alive' Build 1: Caltrops (Jagged spikes mostly, torturous ground is a good alternative) 2: Vault (Tumble) 3: Preparation (Battle Scars) 4: Rain of Vengeance (Dark cloud or Beastly bombs, depends if I want homing or carpet bombing) Left Mouse: Bola Shot (Imminent Doom) Right Mouse: Elemental Arrow (Screaming Skull) Passives: Sharpshooter (always), then 2 of Archery, Cull the weak, Vengeance Thoughts behind the build: I don't like getting hit, and when I do, I die rather quickly (1-2 shots from anything significant). Caltrops is a low discipline slow that is quite spamable; I used to only use torturous ground, but its not nearly as effective against teleporting enemies. At least with Jagged spikes, I place one at my feet, and when they teleport to me I vault out, doing some damage. I'm not sure of this, but I think teleporters in torturous ground just teleport out. Vault (Tumble) + Preparation (Battle scars) together means I can vault out of sticky situations or multi-vault past enemies when I run out of kiting space. 60% heal is nice too, like a 2nd potion. I don't know if Rain of Vengeance is actually good, but it doesn't use hatred and has a relatively fast cooldown. Bola shot (Imminent doom) does good damage (It's my highest damage skill lol), and the 2s delay before damage starts to pile up isn't too much of an issue. Screaming skull is really good, 40% fear works as a stun (interrupting mortar or attacks where they need to charge up), and puts distance between you. Also line splash! (blueflame hellions anyone? XD) Since this is my only hatred spender, it's very spammable. The passives are fairly self-explanatory I hope. Guaranteed crits and increased damage are good, yo.
