Hey guys probably like a few guys/gals I got D3V at release, got into inferno quickly, encountered the gear check known as inferno act 2 and quickly gave up on the game after a few weeks of gear hunting for a measly 0.5 deeps increase (cuz bakc then, thoughness was loluseless anyway. DHs wore paper anyway). Now I'm back for RoS and I have no idea what to do with my lv 60 DH. The gear I have is pathetic (measly 1500 DEX boost, 500k toughness) and it's some kind of "legacy" crap. My build is prolly outdated too. + Show Spoiler + L-Click = hungering arrow (devouring arrow) R-click = ele arrow (nether tentacles) 1. Smoke screen (healing vapors) 2. Prep (battle scars) 3. Vault (tumble) 4. Caltrops (torturous ground)
I need some advice on what to do. Can any1 give me some advice on skills? Since they probably nerfed/changed quite a bit since release. How should I go about replacing my gear? Normal act 5? (since I'm a bit surprised at the toughness of hard act 1 zombies... I can kill them, but my hungering arrow deals no damage really. Gotta spam my ele arrow or cluster.) I found a nice quiver while leveling my wizard but it's 61 so I somehow need to get a level on this DH
Will gear drops be affected by my difficulty? For example: will gear lv.61 I find in act 5 normal be different from gear lv.61 i find in act 1 hard?

All you have to do now is play the difficulty you can manage with the character you want the gear for and it will come =]
I'm using a rather defensive setup still
Smoke screen, shadow power, marked for death with contagion, preparation, entangling with justice is served, frost arrow, cull the weak, perfectionist, archery, last passive is the one that deals more damage to isolated enemies. Playing on master until white enemies die in 2-3 hits then I'll try torment again.
Gear drops are based on your char level so just have fun!

there's a pretty sick interaction/bug with pride's fall helmet and the unity ring combo on a follower with immortal trinket. basically with you and your follower both wearing unity ring, and the follower equipped with an immortality trinket, your pride's fall buff stays on you even if you take damage in most instances.
the only instance where the buff gets removed is from poison pool/freeze ground effects.

I just got to lvl 70 with my HC DH and i had been insanely lucky with the blood shards i gambled with, getting a firemage and some decent gear (and in need to grind some blues to be able to craft the archfiend quiver, so i am expecting another nice upgrade).
At what point would or did you start doing T1 ? I have 520k DPS and 6,5mill toughness, with 46% extra fire damage (need to start gambling for that cindercoat ^^), but i don't want to try out since DH are quite squishy.

6.5m is pretty sketchy in t1. you honestly could die to some crazy shit in no time at all. get that potion to break waller before you try

Yeah i figured i would had to wait, what toughness would be enough to be relatively safe, 8mill?

6.5M in T1? I have 5M and face tank everything T1 (not frozen and arcane sentries ofc lol), rarely die in T2, just make sure your toughness is consisted of high armor and AR, not vit and % life which are seriously overstated in the calculation.

scrubcore is w/e i'm running like 3m toughness in t4

Yeah i raised it to 7mill, now with 520dps, waiting for the 8 million before jumping T1 tho, i can farm T1 with my barb anyways, so i am not in a hurry.
The thing, i saw an affix on the quiver which says 300-400% extra damage for 5seconds. Is that some sort of chance on hit effect ?

it's a bleed effect not extra damage. it's crap

Any advice on my DH? http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/PandaCore-1864/hero/11478211
I used to play Wiz, but the class lost its appeal for various reasons. Currently enjoying my DH again and spent a few days to get some decent equipment, but I'm wondering what I should work on next.
I'm wondering if I should switch my amulett with this one: http://i.imgur.com/88tYiGD.png Currently I'm still waiting to get a better CHD roll before I make the switch.
Any advice on weapons? I do have a decent 2.6k DPS bow and Archfiend Quiver in my stash, but I'd still lose DPS (30k) and Toughness (300k). The quiver has 8% damage vs. elites though.
Also I'm currently gambling/hoping for a Cindercoat. I have 2 pieces of Marauder (sadly Gloves and Boots, which would make me lose the Asheara set bonus and Magefist) in my stash that are quite decent too, but waiting for a third piece and a decent Ring of Royal Grandeur.
Also any advice on Skills/Passives? Currently I'm just winging it and play something I clicked together. Wondering if Rapid Fire - Bombardment may be better than Cluster Arrow - Loaded for Bear. Especially as long as I don't have a Cindercoat to reduce the resource cost.

Just check out how much "damage" you are losing by changing it, and if the 20% of fire damage makes up for it (very likely because that 20% is better than the 6% a.speed). You just lose sheet dps, which is missleading if you are using only fire skills..

A hotfix just went live that makes sharpshooter reset upon crits by your sentry or companions.

Is there any Demon Hunter build similar to Trap Sin. Watching some D2 streams makes me wanna try pull off something similar with all the Trap Sins Ive been seeing.

I can't remember how Trapsin played out, but right now the most viable and popular DH build for high torment is utilizing Sentries with Spike Traps. Beware though, it's very gear dependent and most of the gear is rare/hard to find.
It's relying on the Marauder's set 6-bonus
Sentries cast your equipped Hatred spenders. You will need to find 5 pieces along with a RoRG, ideally the Chest, Helm, Boots, Pants and Shoulders so that you can wear the Thasker and Theo gloves which also boost your Sentries attack speed (Sentries count as pets). A Bombadiers Rucksack with a Chanon Bolter is the best weapon/quiver setup for the build. Get as much cooldown reduction on your gear as possible, since that's the main restriction in getting out the sentries.
Here's a stream of someone doing it so you can get an idea how it plays, here is his Bnet profile.

Oh wow, that looks super fun. Exactly what I wanted. I guess Ill start on it. Thanks for all the info.

Is it worth spending my blood shards to gamble for weapons? I really want that kridershot but holyshit 15 shards per gamble T.T

no, it's not worth it, assuming this info about drop rates is about accurate:
when you gamble for 2H from kadala, on average 1% to 2% of the gambled items are legendary. (source) 15% of these are supposed to be non-smart drops, in your case 2H swords, maces, flails etc. assuming the other 85% are evenly distributed between 2H-crossbows and bows, 42,5% of all gambled items are bows. of all legendary bows, on average ~2% should be a kridershot.
so, in an effort to completely embarrass myself with my math (as seen previously in this and other threads, also school), and that the above assumtions are correct (1,6% chance of a legendary, 42,5% chance of a bow and 2% chance of a legendary bow being a kridershot), your chance for a kridershot from kadala is 0,000136%. that would be ~1 out of 7353, or ~1 for 110.295 blood shards. and that's not accounting for bad luck.
EDIT: the gambling thread i've linked seems to be outdated and doesn't account for the 2.0.5 buffed kadala rates. the new thread still has a very low sample size, but assuming they doubled the chances for legendaries from kadala you can hope for ~1 kridershot every 3677 items/55.148 blood shards.
