Well I do think Baal and Mephisto will make a appearance. If they make 2-3 more expansions then I still think Diablo once more or some made up new prime evil....Also how about Tyreal in Diablo III is actually a bad guy and he is making you think your doing something good but in the end due the corrupted soulstone he is actually bad guy. He turns into Angelic evil Baal zomg.
Disclaimer: Btw I have no idea what happens in Diablo III and have not read anything on Diablo III except what blizzard has provided.

I think many of you are missing a pretty important factor here, namely the destruction of the worldstone? It was supposed to have had epic consequences that no one could foresee including the angels. A lot of people here are saying that no prime evil is truly destroyed, they are just sent to the black abyss after which they come back eventually...so even if their soulstone was destroyed, they can still come back.
The reason why they used the soulstones in the first place was because it was better to imprison a prime evil for eternity than to have to periodically fight them when they come back from the black abyss. But the problem was as Izual stated in Diablo 2, the soulstones were corrupted, which allowed the prime evils to exert enough influence on mankind to manifest on the mortal realm again (i.e. mephisto and the zakarum council).
So in the end its better to destroy the soulstone than allow a corrupted one to remain, as it would at least keep the prime evils at bay for a longer period of time in the black abyss (I'm guessing). I'm guessing the destruction of the worldstone tore at the barriers that normally keep prime evils and demons at bay in the black abyss, allowing Diablo to manifest again a lot faster than usual.
Not sure what the story is with Azmodan, but he's pretty cool looking and I can't wait to see what the deal is with the black soul stones, and of course the angel Imperius . Only one week away!!

^ It must also have broken the barriers between angels and mankind.

Humans are hybrids. The worldstone, along with doing other things, kept the power of most (notably not the "heroes" as much) down at "human" levels. They are supposed to be more powerful than angels or demons as a race. Which also means that the "heroes" are actually a lot more powerful than you'd think, or would be, in a generation or two, being the strongest of the humans.

Lol, everyone already said what I said better than me. Sorry.

Honestly think it is interesting. Never thought which series had the better story though.

SC had amazing lore but SC2 didn't deliver at all and the plot with Duran didn't advance. WC had great lore but then they turned it into an MMO and, let's face it, it's a mess now. Some MMOs pull off lore well (Guild Wars) but Blizzard did not.
So yeah, Diablo is the only story they didn't violate... yet.

I hope Starcraft II Heart of the Swarm expands on Duran. I do also agree the MMO is destroying the lore of World of Warcraft. I used to love the lore to Warcraft but it is becoming really awful. I don't even want to see a Warcraft IV.

I am keeping my expectations low, so i dont get disappointed.

(Sadly) you probably won't, WoW has killed any chance for another Warcraft RTS in my opinion =(

That's what happens when you drag a story out for so long. x-x
