?
Blizzard site gives a different program now, an installer. I didn't keep the downloader because hey, I had downloaded the whole fucking thing months ago... If I run the installer instead of the downloader, it completely fucking ignores the 7.60 gigs I already have and doesn't give me a chance to update the files, instead just asking me for an install folder and ignoring everything else.
What the fuck seriously. Only Blizzard could make such a colossal fuck up of an installer. Diablo-III-8730-enUS-Installer-downloader.exe is the downloader. Diablo III Setup.exe is the installer. When you load up the downloader and it asks for a location choose the location where your previous download was but not the folder itself. Example: You have your stuff downloaded to: /KurrsStuff/Downloads/Diablo-III-8370-enUS-Installer When you open up Diablo-III-8730-enUS-Installer-downloader.exe and it asks for a location choose: /KurrsStuff/Downloads It should check/verify your downloaded stuff. In any case though if you have everything already downloaded just running Diablo III Setup.exe should do it and not download anything new except some small updates. Also no need to hate on Blizzard, the installer works pretty well for a vast majority of people. There is no option to acquire the downloader anymore. I'm stuck with the installer. That's a ridiculous idea by Blizzard. Ah I see they've changed how things work. No more predownloader, so I'm not sure about your situation.

Yeah, for sure. I'm going with either that or a monk I suppose.

I have bought the game digitally and seem to be able to install it only using the enUS installer ( i've tried the enGB as well). This might be a stupid question but...does that mean that i'll be able to play it only when it's the time to release the game for the americans, even though i'm from Europe?

It took almost 20min after 100% till it closed itself.

Not sure, it might require global play to be activated to play in Europe with a US client. Global play will be activated after the US servers open.

Are all difficulty levels balanced for all size of parties? For example could I solo through normal-inferno? If so would it be any easier/harder than with a full group? Can any class play through the game solo?
|
It's harder with a full group actually (in inferno anyway); here's how it scales :
Here is how monsters scale per player in each difficulty: Normal - 75% Health; 0% XP; 0% Damage Nightmare - 85% Health; 0% XP; 5% Damage Hell - 95% Health; 0% XP; 10% Damage Inferno - 110% Health; 0% XP; 15% Damage
Of course, you can use better strategies with 4 people but you need to be a good group.

Like the guy above me said, monster health and damage increase with the number of player, in inferno it's 110% per additional player and 15% damage. So if you have a 4 player party (it means 3 additional) monster will have 430% health, and 145% damage (compared to solo).

About shops, if I play coop and say get a 4th tier blacksmith with my party, what happens when I enter the game solo with the same character? Will I still have a 4th tier bs?

I think it's unlocked for you only if you personally unlock it, nothing party related.
EDIT: To answer your question, yes it is carried over between games.

Is there a skill damage calculator anywhere? My googling didn't turn up anything. Basically, my question is if skill damage is additive or multiplicative.
So for example, start with a weapon that does 100 damage, and a skill that does 100% weapon damage.
Now, if you had a skill that raised your damage by 30% then it would clearly now do 130 damage, or 130% weapon. However, what happens when you add another skill in. Let's say there is another skill that adds another 30% damage buff. Is it 100%+30%+30% = 160% weapon damage or is it 100*1.3*1.3 or 169 damage/169% weapon damage?
Thanks!

Did you watch D3 intro? Is it the same as the one (Black SoulStone video) which was released last year?

Thanks! This is something that is usually handled differently between skills and stats on a case by case basis. Sometimes having two 25% buffs to attack damage can be Additive or 50%; 150 damage with a base damage of 100. Other times its will be 25% applied once, then 25% applied again to the new total, or 100 -> 125 -> 156 (or 25% of 125, not sure if I'm mathing correctly here.)
This is at least this is how Blizzard handles it in WoW. More common stats may be additive but less common stats may be multiplicative. Or they may be all one way or another. This is something that Blizzard usually doesn't publish, which lead to things like DPS Spreadsheets and Calculators for WoW.
