Anyone have any idea what happens when I take a Legendary Item that dropped in Normal to Inferno and salvage it there? What will I get? Does it show anywhere on the item that it dropped in Inferno? Will there be NO overlap between Nightmare/Hell.Inferno drops? I believe each item class has an item level that corresponds to a difficulty, per se. The same way in D2 normal=normal, exceptional=nm, elite=hell. ~~

To people playing the beta: is 4 people per game ok? Do you think that raising the number to 8, as it was in D2, is needed?

4 seems fine to me, In D2 sometimes it was confusing having 8 players in the same screen. It's definitely not needed.
However I do think it wouldn't hurt to increase the maximum to 5, so that you could have 1 of each class in the game. There's no specific reason why having 1 of each class is better, I think it would just be more fun and interesting.

where did socketing go? will it be implemented soon or isnt there going to be any form of socketing in d3?

Are the only statistical requirements for items Level and class(for certain types)?
I notice there are no stat requirements other than those for items on the D3 site like strength for example. (I understand that stats are not manually distributed in D3, but I imagine a level 20 barbarian will likely have a higher strength for example than a level 20 wizard, just want to know if they can throw on the same armor at the same time or not)

4 is fine, 8 would be absolute chaos and lag city. The skills are far more robust and detailed, and for some reason the screen area seems smaller, fitting 4 people + monsters + shit blowing up everywhere is almost too much to tell whats going on already and everyone is only level 13.

Correct, no stat restrictions, just class and level requirement.

If you sell your items using that Cauldron of Jordan item... are items sold for the same amount of gold that you would make if you sold it to a vendor? Or is it less (because it conveniently saves you a trip to town)? Or heck, is it more? Just wondering, in case I really need gold for some reason. Thanks!
|
They are sold for the same amount, and you can go to a vendor to buyback the most recent 8 sales if you made a mistake.
You can not recover items salvaged by your cube, but for Rare, Legendary, and I'm assuming Set items you will get a confirmation box before it is melted. Grey/White/Blue items just melt

I'm wondering how the XP you get is scaling when you team up with a higher lvl character. Is it like diablo 2, where rushes are possible and give a shitton of xp? Or more WoWish, where you barely get any when teaming up (without trixing around). Cheers

Bumping this thread for a retarded question that I just can't find the answer to...
My friend stated that the mob HP doesn't increase with the number of people in the game/party. I said it's 50% mob health per person in the game. Can someone please confirm this and point me to a source? :S
|
Is there going to be PVP in Hardcore mode?? I heard they weren't doing this and putting arenas in instead?? anyone know?
|
HP does increase with more players in game. Don't have a source, but I've been playing the beta the past few days.
It's been mention that PK ruined the HC environment and would not be possible. Unsure if arena is only source of PvP in D3, but I kinda assume so.
|
They said they are not planning to have any PvP but the arena for now, it is in one of the interviews with jay wilson.
They are also unsure about permanent death in the arena in HC and are still trying things out.

Has anyone tried playing d3 beta with a control pad? Do you think it is possible given the current state of the game? (third party software for mapping controls may be needed if Blizz doesnt add in-game support for gamepad)
I had read a few mentions that Blizzard had looked at supporting control pads for d3, but I don't believe there is anything official regarding that yet. It may be something they're still working on adding support for that may not make the initial release. However, I will still be trying to play via control pad if at all possible because I don't like the RSI on my wrists from using a mouse and keyboard.
Given the current control schemes, do you think it will be possible? From what I can see the only difficult ability to control would be targeting a ranged attack for AOE, apart from that as long as you can rotate your character to face a direction for attacking it should be possible to do most things. At least melee characters should be feasible. (I used to play a rogue in WoW with my Xbox360 control pad, using the triggers to shift buttons to alternate functions, it is surprisingly more effective than you think. d3 will theoretically need fewer controls, but there isn't a 'target nearest enemy' like in WoW which made things pretty easy. Has anyone else expermented with this yet?
|
They will surely support that when you can play the Game just with your mouse...

|
Yeah i know that they wanna develop a console version but for the pcversion they wont support

Blizz released some new information about the crafters and I was wondering how the enchanter (Myriam Jahzia the Mystic) works. If you have an item with a maximum number of stats on it and you want to enchant it with something different, which one of the original stats will be removed? All of them? One randomly? One that you can choose (which would be awesome ). Anyone got an idea?
