Darpa Canada4413 Posts January 08 2011 15:06 GMT #101 Looks like some of those maps are backdoor maps, I think Backdoor maps are trash. Frankly I dont like Crossfire because you can abuse the opponents natural from like 8 different tank locations without being a risk from units (its like desert oasis in that regard). And on top of that, every zerg player will roach rush and hit your backdoor where you wont have buildings to choke them. But it is exciting to see some changes coming, it gives hope to the map making community and the players hope that some things will change.

Barbiero Brazil5259 Posts January 08 2011 15:13 GMT #110 IMHO, Aiur Garden SUCKS. Like, completly protected natural(jungle basin anyone?), super faraway thirds, and there is 3 bases per player spawn. How the hell are you supposed to play that, and people complain about DQ and JB? The other three are really cool though, I'm just amused that x-fire is going into GSL but isn't in the ladder yet.

Those guys have put a lot of work into their maps and it would be nice to see them honored in this way since they really deserve it.

Think the current maps we have are absolutely terrible for any sort of competitive play and for me personally I've been enjoying the GSL less and less to the point I skip a day here or there or just turn off the stream half way through.

rift 1819 Posts January 08 2011 15:17 GMT #120 I'm sure the VODs of Gisado's Challenge are on gomtv.com, if a Korean speaker can navigate the website. They don't cost money so it's no worry to GomTV. Not sure if it's IP blocked though, last one wasn't. Crossfire has some typical Blizzard positional imbalances--tanks can fire into mineral line from ledge--but obviously these changes are nothing short of wonderful even if they suck, like MorroW said.
