If you think 4 gate is dumb, wait for 4 gate with proxy pylons on a huge map where the opponent needs to run miles to get to your base, while your warping in in his. If worker distances are high enough, by the time korean 4-gate starts working zerg will probably have had enough time to mount a defense. 4-gate might also pass from being cheese to having a strong follow-up, since countering it won't mean instant GG in a counterattack.

But I think this changes my perception a little bit... and it makes me doubt that Blizz will be making any of their own changes to their map pool map-size policy any time soon. If GOM had any assurances from Blizz about an improvement in the pool they would just sit back and wait instead of trialling their own maps. I haven't heard anything from blizzard about changes or initiatives to bring community maps in either so... Well that's my latest 2c.

Its the first step that somebody had to take and im glad its the GSL. I also dont care if my race looses on all the maps. If the korean community starts balancing the game by using maps there's just no way sc2 will fail. Thats the biggest thing holding sc2 back IMO.

Is Blizzard so slow or are we just too impatient?

Tho it makes a lot of since, Gom is the only other big company that can help directly change the map pool. Also if, Gom's maps become popular, given there relationship with blizzard, its possible that some of them could even be implemented on to the ladder.
