It will be interesting to see what will happen to the ladder after custom maps take over. Unless Blizzard actively keeps adding and removing maps, I think the ladder will eventually be deserted. Sure, those players that don't really care about 'serious' play might keep around, but the number of those people (dare I say, casuals?) will decline as the game ages. There will be no more reason to play on ladder as the only real function it currently has is practicing the maps. Time will tell, I guess, but interesting nontheless. | ||
