I propose a new economic system in SC2 in which the player will only build 1 gigantic worker instead of hundreds of small ones to mine. For Terran it could be a large scv the size of a barrack, for Toss, a gigantic probe the size of a gateway, for zerg a gigantic drone, etc. These workers will have a limited ZOC (zone-of-control) and can not move too far away from their base. The mining speed of the GW (Gigantic Worker), will be upgraded throughout the game eventually leading to it having the mining ability of thousands of workers. Because of its limited ZOC, it will be given the attacking power of a very powerful upper tier unit thus when say for example when a Terran drops your base as zerg, the GW can kill all the marines in only a few hits. Of course because the GW can't move far from its base, it won't be allowed to attack, only to defend so early game battles will actually be harder as opposed to easier. I think this idea will definitely attract more rts player who are more used to building less workers than starcraft players. Thus the sc2 community will be bigger and we can all rejoice. Please no flaming in this thread, let's keep this discussion civilized.

1. How will you be able to harrass then? What's the point of dropping if 'all your marines die in a few hits'?

2. How do you build a "GW" at an expansion. Proxy expansion + GW = win?

3. No more macro, will this "GW" mine 100 minerals per mineral brought back?

4. I don't even want to write everything I could... I hope you aren't being serious about this though.

I can already see it- lift off your main CC and land it beside opponent. Attack their base with GW. Proxy main ftw :D

Don't think it'll work..

Very good points Superiorwolf.

1. Although the GW is very poweful, it is the lifeline of the player's economy, when it's destroyed the player pretty much loses the game. So although one drop won't do much damage but delay mining, many drops can eventually kill the GW. Also a system where the more damage the GW takes, the slower it mines, would be implemented.

2. You build a GW at your expansion, you get one GW per base. When the base dies the GW dies.

One SCV brings back 8 minerals. How much would a GW bring back? This would change the game so much it is quite unfathomable, and it would not be implemented with the game so far in the stages of development so far, with "gold minerals", regular minerals, and the workers already complete, plus balance changes would have to be made in vast amounts.

I can't really explain my opposition to this idea, but it really just doesn't make much sense imo.

I think you're just getting laughs out of my post -_- this is all one big joke? And I'm not in on it?
