2 weeks of extending Gul'Dan didn't really get us anywhere. We had the issue of switching healers quite a bit and re learning P1 without Bloodlust, but in the end, we're still stuck getting to the end of P2 with everyone alive.

We had Gul'Dan himself at 3% by the time he was supposed to die on one pull. Haven't been able to properly engage Illidan.
I know Illidan and P3 is a lot easier than the rest of the fight apparently, but it doesn't make it less disapointing.

We're goint back to farming next week to gear up some new people that got brought to the guldan progress, bit bitter.

How's AP farming going for you guys pushing 10/10m? People getting Concordance yet? I don't know how much DPS difference it makes but i guess that killing Gul'dan with another month and a half of progress shouldn't be too bad. The AK will make concordance extremely easy to get before tomb opens

Just the new traits made a massive dps diff with 46-47 Elisande and Guldan took like 28-30 raid hours combined, and it was mostly because alot of the dps checks were trivialized. So sacrificing dps time to over compensate on mechanics is alot more forgiving

Its actually really not that easy, its easier than p2 for sure but not alot, you need alot of core roles doing things correctly, if you have a bad player in that role you arent getting anywhere.

Pre-nighthold doesn't include decent legendaries since i didn't have them and they were unfarmable but NH+ does because i did and they were farmable .

NH to 7.2 jump includes fixing simcraft bug so it's inflated relative to the other numbers, actual change was more like +95k rather than +150k.

Just the numbers that i saw on my char, will be different for everyone. This is 5min +-20% ST

We have two players working on the 52th trait ( which is Concordance )
Most of our raiders are taking the AP farm pretty relax, since AK levels are so important to it now. Our rule so far is try to get 1 trait and a half per AK level minimum.

I'm farming quite a lot since I use all my specs very often. Started Gul'Dan progress as healer, back to melee now because one of our ranged ( SP ) proposed himself so we could have more melee on the fight. I'm currently sitting at 49/46/42 ( WW/MW/BrM)

I did not do any AP farming since I reached 45. Waste of time imo with how AK makes it much easier later.

Although my guild is also more casual. We are at Star Augur although we would have killed him if we could have raided longer than 1 hour yesterday. Someone had RL stuff to do and we could not continue because we are stretched so thin. Super hard for us to find enough people to keep mythic raiding going.
Anyway Star Augur seems really easy now with the DPS people have and the nerfs.

Yeah the rule is mostly unofficial and applies to pre Concordance really.
Currently very easy to do if you do a few worldquests, one 10+ M+ per week ( always was a rule for us, no max level M+ = no priority on loots during raids ) , the grand slam clean ( EN / ToV normal heroic ) + the Nighthold clears will get you there very fast.

Seems like much listed that way, but World quests is like, 30min per day, one M+ is, lets say, one hour per week, Grand slam is 1h30 / 2h per week, and the NH clears are during standard raid times.

That seems like a fair goal, i barely farm nor care to farm and im almost at 48 i believe, though i did take it very lax during the first couple weeks(irl probz)

DH finally got raddon's, surprising considering it was between two good legendaries (raddon's/belt) and 3 relatively bad ones (wrist/boots/chest) and raddon's was a lot more relevant

Wrist is damn good too

what do you want to know about? 3313123 is go-to for dungeons and the 40% chance to get a soul when stunning thing is really good for that since souls are so powerful. Nemesis is better for low target counts or probably just most of the time if you want to deal with using it and Demon Reborn can be okay if you won't be able to get stun souls

Slow Time Zones now last 70 seconds on all difficulties (was 60 seconds).
Fast Time Zones now last 35 seconds on all difficulties (was 30 seconds).
Damage from Arcanetic Ring reduced to 3 Million on Mythic difficulty (was 3.6 Million).
Elisande health decreased 5% on Mythic difficulty.


Gul’dan
Gul'dan's health has been reduced by 5% on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties.
Fel Lord Kuraz'mal and D'zorykx the Trapper's health has been reduced by 10% on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties.
Inquisitor Vethriz's health has been reduced by 10% on Normal and Heroic difficulties.

hey guys, I'm looking into playing WoW for the first time, yet I'm still not decided.
I don't want to spend too much time, but I tend to AFK/multitask farm while doing other things on the computer anyway. I've heard that committing a day to farming once a week would see you falling behind, but I don't think it will be much of an issue.

the people i'll be playing with raid mostly heroic as a semi-casual group I've known for a long time in other games, but my question is which classes should I consider playing (alliance)?
I favor melee and unique builds and would like decent output for mechanically intensive play, as well as something that is rewarded for good positioning and foresight. i have exp. with high tier progression and I'm not opposed to tanking or healing, but I think we have those covered currently and I would eventually be learning those specs anyway.
as i'll be learning for the first time, I think I require something easier that has a lot of room to grow.

I'm currently interested in monk, and fury warrior but I really actually know nothing about the game.
where do you guys think I should start, or what I could consider?

Damn someone who has never played WoW, that is actually pretty interesting. You say you have exp with "high tier progression", what games is that referring to?

In any case I would recommend you to play a class that can heal, dps and tank (depending on specialization you chose) so that you can later play what you find suits you best. Monk, druid and paladin can do all 3 so I would take one of those.

There is no such thing as "unique builds" btw. except that is referring to bad builds. In general it is always figured out what is best. There is a lot of theory crafting going on you can read about online if you want to optimize your play. Also WoW is not really mechanically intensive. "Positioning and foresight" is mainly important for tanks.
I would still say the gameplay is more complex than people give it credit for, especially for a new player. The leveling at the beginning is super easy and probably boring though. Difficulty is only introduced with higher tier raids and PvP.

If you have questions later I am sure people here would be happy to help.

Monk is really really hard and i personally dont know how anyone can play it for a prolonged time, like a raid. The playstyle gives me headaches, its like counting beans. Its really unique and rewarding though, so maybe its for you. Monk has a combo points system like a rogue, or actually closer to a ret pala, and cooldown on finishers, but the crux is that you are not allowed to use the same ability twice in succession, so you should not press a generator twice, or the filler ability. You have 4 different finishers that cost a different amount of points and have different lenghts of cooldown (and a fifth if you talented it but it is only active if two of them are on cooldown first). And then your big offensive cd spell reduces the cooldowns of the finishers by 50% or something for a period of time so you want to get as many (different) finishers in during that time as you can and another that restores all energy and gives max combo points. Overall i believe its the class with the most intensive resource management.

Demon hunter dps is really positionally dependent but have good tools for repositioning. Death knights need it less for their core function, but are slow as fuck.

Most specs have a two-resource system on paper, but some really only have one, while others really have more.

I can recommend healing. In a chill setting you can do a lot outside raw healing.
Nothing is impossible, only some things for some people.

It's honestly not that hard after a while. You have to remember the spec is empty of any important procs, so your rotation is very static and can be memorized after some experience. You don't really need to rethink on the fly what you are going to do beside syncing it to fight mechanics.

How is coming back to wow now and start fresh with a new charcater gonna be like in terms of feeling behind in AK/AP ? Yes, I heard you can buy 25AK tome, and get 34 traits in a few hours, but people are talking about trait 52 etc and very high AK.
Will I feel like forever behind in dps? Not fun to go into a raiding guild and always be behind 5-10% by default. I did that in february with only having 35trait, while the rest had 45 and up :/

You can get 52 before Tomb and after that the DPS difference is smaller & harder to farm than before. I don't know the exact numbers beyond that

It is a smaller issue now, you can catch up faster because artifact knowledge increases faster. And the later traits dont make that much of a difference anymore (except for concordance of legionfall).
