The only legendary as a havoc that i got is the chest, and i am surprised how useful it is as a suvirval tool. Wish it was the ring (specially now that demon blades proc is not related to gcd). Such is life.

I really hate the guys at Blizzard who thought it would be a good idea to gate heroics behind 810 itemlvl and drop 805 itemlvl in nonheroics and world quests.

So is Karazhan the new ZA Bear run now? I'm super excited about it, heard the timer is really tight, so the mount hopefully will have some prestige.

If you fail the time, can you reset it and try again or one try per week? Anyone know?

Can reset indefinitely AFAIK

tried it and did half of it, timer didn't seem difficult for mythic raiders but i need to see the second half

How do you reset? I mean, don't you get saved after you kill a boss (opera)?

No, you don't get saved to individual ID's for several expansions.

The way that saving works is that you can only kill X boss once per reset and you're not eligible for loot in any extra kills, the only thing affected there is that you don't get loot 5 times from Opera when you repeat the instance 5 times

I did Opera and Maiden with some random pug. Left after that but maiden is basically the same except instead of consecrate coming form her you have to use your own brain to set the debuff. Its actually amazing how stupid people are despite their ilvl 870 whatever at learning new content.

I've had no real bad experiences w/ cutting edge players, many of them show up at ~880-885 on the finder though.

Based on my experiences with group finder i guess that 850 is very easy to get any pretty much anyone has it if they can hit max level. I've made 850+ groups for EN Normal that took two and a half hours to kill Nythendra and Ursoc because of poor damage for the gear level and basic tactics fails, those are the guys that make me clear EN normal with mythic raiders every week and set ilvl requirements that would be pretty insane from the point of view of the content rather than the point of view of what the playerbase has.

Going to 860, 870, 880+ i've seen large jumps in skill for random invited players

IDK why we have detailed information for mythic nighthold bosses ingame but not this boss, it has a few mechanics that can wipe you hard if you don't know what they do and there is no time to read or understand those mechanics before they kill you

Up to 870ish at least, ilevel is a terrible indicator of actual skill. They're are plenty of people getting lucky on warforges or carried through heroic EN that are trash at the game.

Higher than that, and the chances of someone getting lucky for gear become way smaller, and actually had to contribute to hard content in order to get that geared.

And the current proc system makes it worse and worse as time goes on as you can get max ilvl gear doing nothing but easy solo content (tho the luck required is big).
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

If an item is base 840 you have something like a 50% chance for it to be 845+ and around 1% for 870+ AFAIK.

People that are consistently getting medium ilvl gear to get a lot of high warforges are probably fine to play with

Did they redo nightbane ? Looks like old nightbane except you had to do a questline to summon him iirc.

You didnt have mechanics that quiet your movement back then like you do now so dpsing was quite hard, you would be running him all over the terrace because of the charred earth and other mechanics. I remember initialy we used pvp trinkets on rotation, racials and cds, to counter the fear because feared healers meant dead tanks.

It was piss easy once you had kara and gruul on farm ofcourse.

I'm fine running with people that are 840+ ilevel that know what they're doing. I'm not fine with 860+ ilevel people that don't know what they're doing. My core dungeon party of 3 + random guildies can carry all sorts of levels of bad, but it's pretty obvious that just because someone's ilevel is above 860 that you don't have even a great chance of them being good, they're usually not.

Looks quite similar, there is a mechanic now that gives you 9s warning before you explode and deal <current HP> damage to each party member so you have to take off your weapon and jump in the fire to hit them for like 1 mill each instead of 2.3m+

but it's pretty obvious that just because someone's ilevel is above 860 that you don't have even a great chance of them being good, they're usually not.


The % of great players at 830, 840 is a small fraction of those at 870 or 880

That comparison is true, and you should still take a higher ilevel pug over a lower levl pug. The more important number though is the fraction of great players at a given ilevel. That number isn't very great until you start breaking into the ilevels where random forges and hard carries stop becoming a reasonably probable factor over player skill.

As I mentioned earlier, 870 is around where you can start being more comfortable with thinking that a random pug will be able to handle some sort of complexity without it being a crap shoot. It's still pretty close to the 865 number where you have a bunch of brainless chickens getting carried through their weekly heroic EN pug run.
