Tomlin inherited an 8-8 team from Cowher and immediately turned them into a 10-6 playoff team and then a 12-4 superbowl winner. If that's riding coattails, then I think the expectations are totally out of whack. Yeah, the team is looking to have a disappointing year this year, after a good (but not great) season last year. However, I think they're better with consistency, rather than switching coaches too often. If Tomlin has a good team, he can win with them. Lovie Smith was a great defensive coach. He took every defensive player and helped them produce at a higher level than they otherwise would have (IMHO as a Bears fan). Unfortunately, he never was able to put together a respectable offense despite a whole slew of different offensive coordinators. Either the Bears weren't drafting/trading correctly for offense or he and his offensive coordinators stunk at it. Considering how hard Trestman was backsliding, either Trestman was awful or Smith was holding together a stinking pile. I'd vote for the latter. Our former GM was pretty terrible (Jay Cutler had a terrible year, then gets signed to a huge guaranteed contract that is handcuffing the Bears years later). Trestman got screwed, but was nothing special as a coach. I'm giving Fox and the current GM a year off from evaluation until they can get that terrible Cutler contract off the books. Lovie Smith had a bad year with a terrible Tampa Bay team last year. I would almost guarantee they'll be better this year. At a minimum, Smith can build a team up to average through defense alone. Marvin Lewis has earned more time. He took a stinking pile and eventually turned them into consistent playoff contenders. If the team misses the playoffs a couple seasons in a row, then maybe it's time to can him. At that point, he will have already gone through his building phase and peak and he will have peaked without a superbowl appearance. However, I certainly wouldn't get rid of him after one down year. He has shown an ability to take a year off and then bounce right back (going 10-6 then 4-12 then right back to 9-7 and 4 straight playoff appearances). As always, even great coaches need a competent team to win. Belichick was a losing coach in Cleveland. Now he's one of the most celebrated cheaters, err winners, out there.

Raiders > Bengals Smith, Mack, Tuck are going to give Dalton problems. Woodson will get an interception. Bucs > Titans - Lovie Smiths defense is going to much for Mariota. Cowboys > Giants - Dont trust Eli Manning Green Bay > Bears - Jay Cutler is a scrub without Brandon Marshall around Rams > Seahawks - No Kam and a uninspired Beast Mode will not be enough to beat Foles

If anythings gonna beat us, its because the Rams have an extremely talented D Line and we have a very untested and shaky O Line. Coach Fisher's always had our number with trick plays too.

league 1 (.25 ppr, 6 for all tds, points for big plays and big days ie 40+ yd plays, breaking 100yds 200 yds etc). I'm basically debating who to flex here since I think I have several options. Stafford D. Thomas, Beckham Gordon, Hyde Witten FLEX: S. Smith Bench: A Foster, Garcon, Tevin Coleman, D.G Beckham, B. Coleman, Fleener. League 2. Standard scoring 6 all TDs. WR depth is butt right now. It's either Bernard or Cunningham. I'm kind of leaning towards Cunningham since I think he's a3 down back until Mason or Gurley return from injury. Ben Cobb, Tate, Wheaton Lacy, Gore Witten FLEX: Bernard Bench:A foster, Stafford, Lafell, Doresett,Benny Cunningham Here's the FA list for WRs currently... it's pretty bad. Sanu is the only one on there I think worth anything more than a WR4 now. I'm thinking he has to be an upgrade over Dorsett probably, who is the WR3? Cecil Shorts might be the only other but I think that's only in PPR. ![]()
