Hello TL.net community. This thread will be about a very small feature that allows you to change your constant green-red color scheme into other one. Probably some of you wanted something with color customization, such as selecting color for ladder games. Blizzards still not added anything around it, so the solution is Color Blind Mode.
It was implemented for Color Blind players, but other players without color blindness can use it easily. If you don't like it, then you may switch back. This thread is just to showcase what it changes.
~ DEFAULT COLORS ~
In the 1v1 ladder you may have only 3 colors - blue (enemy red), red (enemy blue), green (enemy red). In all cases your army is green on the minimap.

They are different and may give some different feeling when you start use them. Here are differences:
- Darker minimap
- Brighter minerals and geysers
- Instead of always green-red color scheme you will have blue-orange color scheme. You still can stay with player colors such as Blue-Red colors.
- On the minimap you can be blue instead always green
- Building grid is more contrast: you can clearly see where you can build, and where can't. Unbuildable blocks are black, buildable ones - white. If you can't place building, then blocks will be marked with X. In the standard color scheme they will be marked as red blocks.
~ AESTHETICS POINT ~
I think, always blue Protoss and always blue Terran looks a lot more cool, than always green. Blue Terrans are Raynor's Raiders from campaign, and Protoss blue color was always their default color. Just compare such a small but nice difference. Zergs looks better in green mode just because it's their second color after purple, even in the campaign

Um... Did you really have to make a thread for this?

So thanks for advertising a feature that was added with hots?

Seems like you put a lot of effort into this post to essentially tell us to use Color Blind mode if we want different team colors when laddering. For this reason, I can't help but like this post more. Thanks for the info.
Would be nice if there were multiple team colors when 1v1 laddering though. In BW campaign different colored terrans meant different factions, for protoss it meant different tribes, and for zergs different broods. So when you played mulitplayer, depending on the color you got, almost implied that you were fighting for that faction/tribe/brood.
Would be nice to see this for sc2 ladder. Its not that hard to implement really, since they took the time to make color blind mode, its not gonna be any harder. Only makes sense if they unlocked all colors in sc2 though, like the ones from 4v4. Like dark green, black, purple, orange, skyblue etc I think 8-9 colors in total. BW also had white team color :D Either way, colorblind mode will still override it, so I can't see it being a proplem.

I was sort of expecting a mod to change my color to what I want, kinda like how Brood War used to be with random colors.
That was a lot of information and effort just to alert me about the colorblind feature.

I'll say more, many players don't know about half or more options at all. They just don't open Options and play on defaults... and then they ask how to bring back Move/Hold/Attack buttons (because Simplified Command Card) or how to make worker status visible.

I tried it a while back, the darker minimap actually made it very hard for me to differentiate between areas I had scouted and had not.

I have to agree with others criticising this thread. The title is misleading and made it sound like the content of the post was about something greater than just the colourblind mode. As such it doesn't really offer much value, specially since it's a feature that was heavily advertised before during HotS launch.
Also, OP already made a big thread about it back in August.
So honestly I don't see the point. :/

Oh, I forgot about that thread, tried to search it but forgot the title. Thank you.
You can delete this thread from now.

Just trying to remind that there are some good small options that everyone can use.

Even worse, you still see people go into stream chat and go "He doesn't use hotkeys?" when the ability to hide that row of hotkeyed stuff has been in the game forever.
