I present to you, THE CLONZEN BUG! (I found it, it's mine. Deal with it)
All jokes aside, I'm pretty sure this bug is a pretty big flaw with the current purchasing and selling of items in dota 2. Any item that can be bought and made use of within the ~14 seconds before you can sell it is currently broken. Although sometimes it might not be useful, there will be times where it is extremely useful.
The main place this bug can be used is within secret shop or side shop areas.
As an example, let's say you're playing carry and your opponent is not harassing you nonstop and you need a ring of health to say in the lane, but ideally you would want to rush for a...
<any item you want> (Midas?!).
When the lane is pushed you can use the side shop as a miniature fountain/ healing zone by
purchasing as many regeneration items as possible and selling them before the time runs out.
This is free regeneration and is an obvious exploit that needs to be fixed.

But I have a question, if people are competing for a large sum of money, what action would tournament admins take on players that used this exploit?

It's not a bug.
It's not relevant.
It's not abuseable.
It's not threadworthy.
If you want an example of a SMART similar "Abuse" it is buying an energy booster at the side shop in order to have enough mana to TP or cast something, then TPing (or casting the spell) and then insta-selling the energy booster.
Its just a smart use of mechanics much like pulling is. Don't try to make a stupid big deal out of it.

On the plus side, OP seemed willing to put in the effort to make what he believed was a quality OP.
On the other hand, OP's Dota "knowledge" isn't really enough to justify posting... this.

It techically is a bug because you can't do it in DotA 1. However, it's been on the Known Bugs List for a year and a half and you're really daft for trying to take credit for it.
This isn't even the most serious sell-back exploit anyway.

Well, can you ever sell items for full price in dota 1?
Like, item selling parity stuff is hard to call a bug as far as i'm concerned because the shop system is completely redone.

It's free hp regeneration, normally you pay GOLD to get that. That energy booster trick sounds pretty clutch as well, I guess you want to say some unintended bugs are good? But instead you choose to insult me.

Wait a sec while I make a thread about the abuse of creep aggro because I can pull them to the jungle camp. Its a huge bug, the community needs to know!
Of course, I will take credit for discovering this bug and we can have intelligent discussion about how valve will patch it out of the game so that it doesn't ruin any more games than it already has.

Because it's been posted before, most people know about it, but it doesn't matter because in most cases it is not useful or even harmful to do so.

I don't think you can buy RoH every few seconds and farm at the same time so it's not that great. More like cool mechanic than exploit.

It's been known for a long time. It also poses some threats (f.e. if you get killed during the process, you can't sell those items) and generally its really marginal.

I really wouldn't call it a parity bug. Just the fact you can sell it for full price would be a parity bug in that case. As for whether it's a bug in Dota 2, it's hard to say. It's definatelly not a very meaningful one either way.

I was unaware that this was already known, I figured it was a big deal because it's not like a one time use trick with the energy boost, its an ongoing exploit that can be used. Similar to bottle bird to grab runes, that was fixed real fast. The taking credit was a joke, as i said, "all jokes aside".

You were even talking about tournaments punishing players for using it, which is simply absurd. "Bugs" are part of the game, and far worse ones have been used in competitive matches with no punishment.

Sitting at the side shop forever just to utilize a "free" ring of health that you need to have the gold to buy anyway but don't want to buy is beyond marginal. The idea that this could ever be useful beggars belief. Hence the flames, because you are trying to make a big deal out of something that is bad in almost every conceivable circumstance.

Well, if you get low on hp from farming, you can stay just in xp range and still be in range of selling to the shop, allowing you to heal back up and get back to farming.

it really doesnt matter. just a little trick like dropping stat items before bottling up. it might backfire sometimes too.
