Ranger is an idiot for turning like that, but still. Jeez.
He should be allowed to turn and play the puck. The puck is actually closer to Killorn, and Killorn has body position, but Killorn doesn't even make a play on the puck.
Killorn needs to be more careful there. While many cases are a keep your head up kid kind of thing, this really isn't.
Reimer has been a pretty decent goalie so far, and Bernier has definitely saved TOR some games this year. If the team had bad goaltending, they would be absolutely terrible. As is, shell defense with a quality goalie does work from time, but is unlikely to in the long term or in the playoffs.

Their success goes to show that exceptional players can make a great difference because their are relatively few goals scored. That said, TOR would never get out of the 2nd round of the playoffs even if everything went right in terms of luck. You just cannot be that bad of a team in possession and expect to win a 7 game series.
Reimer is slightly above average for a starter and very very good as a back up.
Nah reimer is pretty bad
he has been bad lately, but that was after getting bonked in the head. over all he is slightly above average.
the problem is he is increasingly susceptible to head injuries.
a few hours after taking a head shot the patient can seem perfectly normal. the symptoms and decline in performance occurs days later as the tissues and fluids in the skull react to the trauma.
Reimer also sucked balls for months after that Montreal Canadien guy bonked him in the head.
sometimes it takes months to recover from a head trauma. who knows when Reimer will be back to 100%.
after consulting FLaccid though, i can confirm that Reimer's heart did not stop.

Even if Killorn came in looking to rub him out and hold him up there, it's still a dumbass play by Ranger. Don't try spinning out of there with a player barreling down on you.
That being said, I still wanted him to get a game or two for coming in so fast while staring at the numbers the whole way. That's just careless. Even if here were trying to just pin him to the boards, he was coming in pretty reckless.

I really wish he'd end up on a good team. Poor bastard.
Is he not a FA next season? He can just leave. I'd leave. Ottawa seems like its going nowhere. Really disappointed that Bobby Ryan didnt want to have a rebound year. So much for being picked second after Crosby -- maybe Ottawa can ship him to Burke who loves that kid.

Yep UFA. Theres a chance he comes back to Edmonton. He hasn't put his house up for sale yet. Usually the house is put up immediately after a trade
i love MLSE. now that the Leafs have been burned by the Toronto Star, the leafs have stopped using the term "whiplash".
Reimer was hit in the shoulder a few nights ago in LA. and now, Paul Ranger has a stiff neck.
LOL
Concussions are basically non-existent on the maple leafs. What we have are a bunch of guys with neck and shoulder problems which cause them to mysteriously exhibit "concussion-like symptoms".
I wonder if Paul Ranger's neck injury is worse than the neck injury Reimer suffered in October 2011?
if they really get backed into a corner on this one the way Reimer and Burke got cornered in 2011/12 then they'll resort to "we really don't know what is wrong"...
perfect example of the league not punishing stars.
How many dirty hits does Neal have to throw before he gets a real suspension? Malkin is another fuckhead. Was funy seeing him get a buttend to the nuts. Crosby isn't really too dirty, but man it is really easy to hate that stupid team

and u can, of course, see why some people do not like the NHL's brand of regular season hockey.
