It doesn't require original players. This is the feature people use if they just want to mess around and continue a pro game or whatever. 2. Recover Game - This requires the original 2 players and everything is hidden. This is what tournaments should always use unless they're noobs and use the take command feature by mistake.

Worked pretty well. that's actually what inspired me to make this thread! ![]() The latter is what is being used in tournaments. I assume the OP is referring to the "Take Command" function? correct, that is what i meant

That was a really annoying issue especially if you needed to resume from the middle of a battle and couldn't afford to spend the time resetting them. Judging by the in-game chat after they had recovered that one qxc vs Kane game in Shoutcraft America last night, they still haven't fixed it yet. Snute also mentioned it recently on Twitter, so I guess it wasn't in the last big patch: Jens Waller Aasgaard @LiquidSnute 9 May I hope no serious tournament will force me to use Recover Game, its bugged. BaseCamera hotkey viewframe dislocated far up, 2months no fix =( 2:28 AM - 9 May 13 · Details Such a shame that it takes Blizzard so long to fix such a great feature. As for the other feature, "Take Command" (which tournaments should NEVER EVER use to recover a competitive game), I believe it was showcased in the launch event for Heart of the Swarm where players who lost could replay from a chosen point where they thought they could turn things around. A popular term being thrown around back then was that it's "Best of 3 of 1". Mentioned here by Day9 and Husky: Then again, you would think that even here "Recover Game" would have been the better choice. Maybe they also confused the two features again, who knows.
