perhaps people want more from the leader of their country then someone who says the first thing to pop into his mind.

someone recently quoted his stance on how we might have to take out entire familys all together because if one of them is radicalized that means they're all radicalized. Granted in Trumps statement it's only admitting that that might be the only way to "win" the war without saying we should do it. But just yesterday we had someone in here arguing that Genocide is the only way to do this.
Being worse than Trump is already a pretty high hurdle all in itself, idk what else you're looking for.
It seems this family knew about their radical Islamic son and didn't report anything to the authorities. I think Trump is once again right on they money, his sister had to have known as well.
So does Trump's advocating for bringing back torture, and going after terrorist's families mean he has already implicitly suggested we torture Farook's family whether they are American or not?
Torture for ISIS type groups who cut peoples heads off with 6 inch knives, burn people alive, torture them in the most gruesome ways possible, is anyone really going to lose sleep over it?
Google "ISIS beheadings" and "ISIS child soldiers" who they train to behead and execute their victims.
He's talking about terrorists and their families in the middle east, clearly if you're an American you are protected by the constitution and go through the legal system here.
ISIS and ISIS type groups' families in the middle east are radicalized, I think if you want to destroy ISIS you have to take them all out whether you like it or not. War is terrible but there's no other way.
There's something to be said about someone who makes people willing to say stuff like that.
How many novels and movies have had the protagonist join some rebel group and later found out their methods were to extreme because they killed the families of their enemies? How many stories go down that line where people start out with good intents, but then end up being mass murders?
And then we have Trump, who just skips the good intent part and goes straight to “Kill their families, it’s the only way. Those kids are going to grow up and be bad, so get them.”
He has been doing it since he came onto the scene, seems like every week he says something similar. What is just as disturbing to me is that it seems to make his support among certain segments of the population go up. But again, in a general it is all going to come back to bite him in the ass and anyone who thinks these statements of his will do more good than harm for his chances in a general are delusional.
Most presidential elections it's almost impossible for the margin to be past 60-40. If Trump, is the Republican candidate, I'm guessing he'll break that trend in spectacular negative fashion.
Though I will reiterate Trump is hilarious. He's a walking satire to how insane our media and politics have become.

Everything about Trump's ideas and policies are best summed up in this clip.
He is a man who does no research into anything he says until after he said it. I'm pretty sure every number or statistic he has ever brought up was post hoc cherrypicked to support his positions he stated earlier. Why anyone would want him in a position of power is beyond me. He didn't even know that his website insulted Marco Rubio when discussing his immigration policy (which is his only policy) for Christ's sake.
Also people who “speak their mind and don’t feel the need to be politically correct” are the least impressive people in politics. That basically amounts to being willing to speak on things they don’t know about and not respecting other people. People who think about things before they say them and are willing to say “I don’t know” should be admired, not shunned for it. Especially when the office they hold can crash the stock market and launch nukes with a word.
trump does not have a stance on many of these things. if cruz said those things i'd be extremely concerned. trump is in primary season and feeding sensational bits to the base, which he probably disdain.
the discussion around trump that revolves around moral outrage at the stuff he says isn't how most voters will think about it. america is a deeply racial place and a guy that is able to say these things in public will have some resonance with the masses.
I think it is rather common for people to go on about something that they honestly don't know that much about. I do it sometimes, though at a point I will admit that I don't know enough or care enough about an issue. But you are right that in a political figure this is quite the problem since it is their job to know about the issues and not knowing about them comes at a great cost to everyone they represent.
Not being politically correct I don't cared so much about, it tends to be overrated. Some things are better talked about and discussed honestly, with the caveat that people are well informed and know what they are talking about.

Yeah no. The winner of Hillary vs. Bernie will easily win the election. It won't even be close.
Especially if it's against Trump. He's marginalized nearly everyone, and Bernie is extremely popular and hasn't even become a household name with everyone yet. His popularity will only increase and Trump's will only decrease even more.
The problem with the terms “politically correct” is that is a meaningless term that people throw around bitch about whatever issue they think people are being to “sensitive about”. Like when people accused Obama of being “to PC” when he didn’t want to comment on who he thought carried out the Paris attacks while they were ongoing. I’ve seen people bitch about the new Star Wars movie being “to PC” because they cast a black actor.
Its whatever people want to bitch about, merit of their argument be damned.

Can we please let go of this absurd fancy that Sanders is a serious contender for the race?
Seriously, as much as the world could need someone like him to be in charge of the world's biggest military and economy, he has no chance in hell. He alienates Wall Street, he alienates big media, big oil, big pharma, Monsanto, the GOP...
Hillary wins the Democrats could win the Democratic election just because she's a woman, but she's a woman with loads of money and more political experience than pretty much any man. Unless Fox do something more despicable than usual, there's no way she loses this.
Bernie's record is quite good. His biggest problem will be selling himself so that people know who he is and his history and record. That could be a better problem to have than the one Trump has, which is that large swaths of the population will never vote for him at all because of the things he has already done and said.
EDIT: Just want to point out that the Rs are really doing themselves in with their insistence on pandering to the most extreme segments of the base. If you look at the views of populations across america there are many segments that are traditionally very conservative, on both social and monetary issues. If they stuck to such issues and left out the ~25% of their party that are rather extreme, they would do quite well.
The way I always describe it is that too often I see some conservatives be completely wrong on what I would describe as 'easy' issues (mostly referring to social issues), and my line of thought is that if they can be so wrong about issues that are relatively simple, I don't trust them with actual difficult issues like foreign policy.
This seems to be an election cycle where the conventional wisdom doesn't apply, but I think it still does. It's easy to say that basically anything goes because Trump and Carson are doing well while spouting bullshit. However, I seriously doubt that'll last. A lot of people thought Hillary had gotten stuck in a death spiral, but she's managed to turn that around pretty effectively. At the end of the day I'm pretty sure she's going to win, though the Sanders' movement will leave a pretty big mark.
The only casualty of electoral weirdness are a couple of the Republican candidates. But even then, lets be real: as the establishment-backed candidate, Jeb was ass bad. He would have been pretty okay if he wasn't so cringey.
Hillary Clinton will on Wednesday unveil a proposal for a new “exit tax” aimed at cracking down on corporate inversions, a practice that permits US companies to merge with corporations overseas to lower their tax bill.
Clinton heralded her focus on financial reform on Monday with an op-ed piece for the New York Times, titled How I’d Rein In Wall Street.
The new exit tax would be part of a broader effort to target what experts say is roughly $2tn in profits US companies are hoarding abroad to reduce their taxes. Clinton will propose spending the revenue raised by the new tax to boost manufacturing jobs in the US, campaign aides said. They spoke on condition of anonymity ahead of the official campaign announcement.
Clinton’s proposals are part of the economic agenda her campaign has been rolling out this month. They include boosting infrastructure spending by $275bn and making other new investments in research and clean energy.
Clinton is the overwhelming favorite to win the 2016 Democratic nomination. She will face two rivals when the long primary contest begins in February.
The November announcement of a plan to merge drug-makers Pfizer and Allergan to create the world’s biggest pharmaceutical company reignited a fierce political debate over whether such deals should be permitted.
Under the deal, New York-based Pfizer would move its headquarters to Ireland, where Allergan is based. That enables Pfizer to slash its tax rate from around 25% this year to about 18%. Ireland’s lower corporate tax rate would have saved Pfizer nearly $1bn of the $3.1bn in US taxes it paid in 2014.
Though the Treasury Department has unveiled new rules to deter companies from considering inversions, officials say only Congress has the authority to halt the practice.
I just have a hard time believing that people like Trump and Carson doing well among Republicans at the moment is indicative of how they are viewed nation wide, I tend to think it isn't at all indicative. The things they are saying and doing now to get the support of that segment of the base is the same stuff that ensures they will never get majority support in a general election.
