It shows the lack of real leadership in both parties and a lack of statesmanship. I still think one of the root causes with the dysfunction congress today is that they are not in the office 5 days a week and required to work together. Their ability to go home for the majority of the week has really hurt our government in subtle ways.
Of course there are other issues, but congress not being a place of business any more is a growing problem. I really think they need to change the rules in congress to force them to be in the office more, or have a residence in DC.

There's a reason Zuckerburg is learning Mandarin, and it's not just to make his wife happy.
Just so you know, they don't speak Mandarin in HK. They speak Cantonese and English.

Nice catch. I actually put Chinese in my original post, then I made the Zuckerberg reference and revised the language in the previous section for some reason and confused myself lol
Actually in retrospect it's actually kinda neat I made that mistake, means I couldn't remember precisely what language I spoke to those guys in so looks like the different languages I speak are kinda all equally implanted in my head. My verbal is pretty decent, it's my reading and writing that are complete ass.
Also rushing comments on minimal sleep

That's true for all of the GOP seems to me as an outsider.

The problem right now is that people haven’t’ seen leadership or a functional government in so long, we can’t remember what it looks like. Or how to get back there.

She can't out-woman Hillary. Her ideas on foreign policy are woeful and she looks like she has no idea what she's doing whenever she's asked a question outside of her talking points. I have no idea why people here rate her highly.
Carly Fiorina was the only person on that stage with a brain.

They're all fairly smart, they're just highly dishonest.

They are NOT smart. They're not even good at their jobs (being actors and repeating soundbites as though they know what they mean). In descending order of intelligence, you have Carly Fiorina, Donald Trump, Kasich, and then all the rest of them.

I think Rubio outshone Carly big time. Carly was like "Hillary says she's a woman but here's a non sequitur so there!" wut.

Rubio is a moron. That might be an asset to him in the Republican primary, but he's definitely a moron. He's almost as stupid as Ben Carson.

Carly is pretty much the best example of someone who's bad at their job though... lol. Fired after HP was killed (especially compared to its competitors). Dead and buried.

Smart my ass, always the same thing when I try ro cririxize a politician or a ceo... There's a classic Adam Smith quote about the tendency to worship the rich and the powerful...

That's a stupid hatchet job sort of claim. When she explained that "you don't know what being a CEO is like" that was pretty much the highlight of the debate. She understands how fucked up the system is.
I mean, look, it's not like I like Fiorina. I'm just saying she's the most intelligent one. If it were an election with her vs Clinton I would actually just vote for Carly as the lesser evil (not like voting for Trump where it's a vote to blow things up)

What exactly is your metric for stupidity/ being a moron/ intelligence when talking about the candidates? I'll be the first to jump on the "Republican candidates are crappy overall" bandwagon, but I'm curious as to how you're actually justifying a ranking system where Carly is on top. She's not leading in any polls, she was a failed businesswoman, she has no political experience, she doesn't have any particularly interesting plans or propositions... she needs the "Look at my sex! Look at my sex!" slogan even more than Hillary does! What else does she have going for her that the others don't?
|
Rubio is just an airhead. It's something about the tone of his voice when he talks. I know that doesn't constitute an argument, sorry I can just tell that he's a moron who has been well coached. He's sort of starry-eyed when he talks

If you're smart and act like a dumb person long enough you become dumb.

All I was thinking when she said that is "If you're going to cry about being a CEO of a business that you screwed up, just imagine trying to be the CEO of a country as fucked up and divided as this one."

Fiorina and Trump are the only ones that when they talk, you know it is them talking. They can form English sentences independently.

I don't think the "CEO of America" analogy makes any more sense than the "Household budget of America" analogy.
I suspect that Fiorina was no better or worse CEO than any other idiot who has that job
