What is yours??
If you're like me and have little to no gaming gear (I'm a bit skeptical on my keyboard not being mechanical as it is loud and was told any keyboard before 2000 was mechanical lol.)
Heres my mouse;

My pc is just kind of bad, I like to stream oncein a while but 20 fps and stuttering isn't fun
now for the dream that should happen one day.
Razer Deathadder (Mouse) Razer Blackwidow (Keyboard)
4-8 coreswith 8 Gigs of ram, amazing graphics card, liquid cooled system, alienware.
I feel like this is one of those "you can google it" threads but, yeah. :p

my gaming rig would be the smallest size possible, noiseless, but powerful enough to play current games in high res. And of course the right connectors for a nice big TV so that I can watch streams and HD movies.
|
Anything that runs BW, plays music at the same time, is able to play 720p/1080p videos and disk around 2 TB would be awesome. I dont want anything more.

I'm glad alienware does NOT invade my dreams
I usually go for a build (all my builds are my dreams builds i guess) every 3-4 years depends on how much upgrading happened on the way. I was an AMD fan for years however next build will be Intel. Only there is bug all reason for me to upgrade since everything I do runs good and new games only run better than badly coded games like SC2 which still runs sweet.
Next build ill use conventional water cooling as I'm not too happy with the prebuilt solutions I used on last two builds, 1 Leaked onto a a gtx560 and the other just not cooling as good.
Good Idea to put everything into a nice case by someone like like Lian Li, to avoid getting shit for an alienware case down the track from people in the know
EDIT: F@# me the reply I gave I thought I was in the tech forum

I honestly wish I had a chromebook. I might pick one up, it's pretty much perfect for me :p All I've seemed to be doing lately on my computer is browsing the net, watching YouTube vids/streams and taking notes in class. The portability of the chromebooks would benefit me.

Don't care about proccessor, i just want a graphics card able to play just about anything at 1080p or higher. Sounds quite modest, but right now i'm stuck with 720p on a laptop screen, so a 21" with that resolution sounds like a dream to me.
|
The most important spec is the price. Anything for 0$ would be great.
|
You just had to say "alienware". Alienware is a rip-off. Build your own! Best play to go is /r/buildapc on reddit!
|
Currently I have a 5yr old laptop that cant play shit, but if Im lucky, Ill get an Alienware on monday They just look so kick ass XD Perfect for showing off to your friends
For peripherals I have a Razer Megalodon and a Razer Mamba 2012 so Im pretty top notch here

I was very nervous the first time I did a build myself but it turned out to be very easy. Read up a bit on parts and comparability, start with a nice combo deal from one of the online retailers. You can usually get a mobo/ram/cpu deal to make compatibility concerns a non-issue. then slap in a much ram as you need and grab a nice video card. everything plugs into the place it fits and boom! new PC!

Out of curiosity, why do people dislike Alienware so?
My knowledge of this stuff is basically nonexistant so sorry if it should be obvious.

Overpriced. Anything you can get from Alienware (generally; I think their laptops are priced competitively) you can build for significantly less.
|
Kind of... dumb thread? I mean obviously my dream specs would be the best specs possible, why aim for less in your dreams? If you're dreaming with regards to sports, do you dream to be mediocre? If so those dreams are kind of missing the mark imo.
And anyway, why does everyone bitch alienware so much? I'm not a big fan but I've owned alienware products and they're definitely not subpar to say the least.

Ahh this is true but you have to take into account the fact that they're in the business of making money and as long as they can remain making money off over priced things (note Apple products) they'll remain to do so.

their shit breaks all the damn time too.

I´m not sure if this thread should be about specs, we all want the better specs possible, i think this thread should be more about style of the case and setup.
what i want to do is something like this, The L3P D3sk

For Keyboard a IBM M painted black with a carbon fiber vinyl case would be kickass, for mouse a Deathadder i think it would do the job

this is just kind of a list thread. the specs can be as outrageous as imaginable, and the setup will just be a list of "you want you lose" type stuff.
personally i'd like a booth

Dream - -3x Dell Ultrasharp U2711 with Premier Color(I'd rather it be smaller, triple 30'' is absurdly large) -Standard ultra-high end computer(In a silverstone case of some sort, I;m rather partial to brushed aluminum), built for silence. -Air conditioning unit(I think people are neglecting the fact that dream setups including monitor(s) are going to put an insane -amount of heat into a room when they get going). -Same peripherals I'm using right now. Potentially with an upgrade from my 518 to a G400. Maybe, the holographic shell is fucking sweet even though it makes you sweat soooo much.
In reality I'm happy with my current computer. Plays everything, reasonably quiet, and I have kickass peripherals. Could stand to replace my current computer chair though.
