No announcements so far. The beta client has just been leaked, though the servers are offline, and keys have not been issued AFAIK.

Blizzard dont issue keys right? As you can only play with a battle net account anyway? Thus they just activate on your account when you click a link from a blizzard email?
(if i remember previous beta's. Panda being one of them)

Yep. They only give some keys to fansites for giveaways but the majority and the first are all invites.

Downloading the client, can't wait to play some games vs ai via the editor! I guess all thats left now is checking my emails every few mins.

The auto rally + workers auto mine might be in the game to help with the occasional (quite frequent) desynch at start up, right?

I've made a quick little game in the editor and here are the things I've noticed.
1. Selecting multiple drones to mine shows their queued destinations on the minimap. 2. Unfortunately, that stupid ass "optimal amount of workers" bar does occur in melee maps. 3. Minerals and gas are untargetable AFAIK there is no menu option to change this - meaning that you cannot click on them at all. You can however, send drones to mine. 4. Creep tumors show rallies (as in shift que wtf).
That optimal worker bar better be complained out of the fucking game.

Jep I'm on cloud kingdom right now, all blue minerals are gold and it shows me the worker thingy even though I'm not an observer, other than that it works fine. Oh and I just build a mamaship core, so yes the units are in there, I can post a screenshot too.

You know it would be really awesome if they'd release a MP only client for the full game too.
I'd love to only have to worry about reinstalling 3.5g of content to play the game rather than 10g+ or whatever Wings is right now.
