Going to https://us.battle.net/account/management/sc2/dashboard-hots-beta.html now shows HOTs instead of the Arcade beta just like in EU...

This is one of the most ignorant statements I've ever read. I'm currently a high Diamond zerg and I have ALWAYS been boxing my workers, counting, and only doing optimal saturations... and all the people I know do this as well. Its such an ingrained part of my macro that I'll probably keep selecting by habit and just looking at the number.

Even when I'm doing some 12min-roach-max, and I already know i have full saturation on all of my bases. I keep going in a loop and rechecking them all, over and over and over again. I have no clue what that guy was talking about where pros just look and know. Every pro stream I've watched they are always rechecking their saturation.

doubt it, at least haven't seen any deals like that, also blizzard rarely work like that unless its at the end of the beta stage where its nearly 100% public anyway.

Mothership's vortex ability now stun the units in target area for 20s and prevent any damage to these units.

or you could just gimme arbiters
Blizzard is missing the "omg" units like spidermines and banelings. Widowmines are like "oh i know whats gonna happen in x seconds".
I watched some dota2 (really just a few minutes) but what is going on there (in the audience) is what sc2 needs right now.
Inputting special characters into chat should no longer cause the game to crash.

so instead of boxing or double/ctrl clicking you just look at a number...

Yeah

We already knew that from the last DB inerview... they dont want to make every unit be the same speed, same dps, same health. they want to give the bc more dps so that it is a slow moving high damage capital ship. fsat moving and high armor doesnt make any sense.

The saturation thing will be helpful for people doing all-ins or timings.

Is that what I think it is? Automatic rally set to mineral field at start of a map? xD

yes it is what you think it is

and I want to facepalm at blizzard

rofllllll as if it wasn't easy enough xD

It's entirely possible that they were having some start-of-game lag issues and this is a way of temporarily making the start equal for everyone so they can test better while the lag is fixed.

Laughing about this and saying "lol blizz" seems pointless

Maybe but the chances of noob friendly reasons are much much much higher

Hummm it could not be a terrible idea if certain "newbie" options got disabled the higher you go in leagues. So people that got closer to the top couldn't rely on auto features anymore.
Think its a bad idea if it remains all the time, especially the idle army one...

Edit: also on tournaments not allowing those options...

Anyone can download it providing you have a bnet account.

Actually logging in and playing is a different, more luck based matter.

Quick question: Is Blizzard making the beta client available to everyone on Battlenet no matter if they will get a key or not?

Edit: Ok, just saw the post above. But what is the point of creating a lot of potentially useless traffic, i.e. a lot of people downloading the client without being able to actually play when the beta is live?

Yes, so doesn't mean you are in if you can download everyone can.

It's probably not as much traffic as you think.

Also, doesn't the downloader use some kind of BitTorrent-esque system? So it wouldn't put much load on Blizzard's servers (could be wrong)

Not only that but from Blizzard's perspective it's probably nice to have a large sample of testers ready to go when they send out the invites.

Download the client from the following URLs:

Some people saying that you need to clear the cache of the previous Arcade Beta before this will install. I cannot attest to this as I'm on a clean Windows install.

2.
The map editor will ask you to log in if you launch it directly... BUT. If you stat up the game client and click on the Editor button in there it will start for you.

3.
Make vs AI maps and share here ^^

Can you detail the #3 point? I've never used the editor before. Thanks.

didnt they buff the BCs damage in exchange though?

Vs ground, which really wasn't the issue. It would have been nice if with good control with the redline reactor Vikings couldn't always just endlessly kite the BCs. Not really sure why they increased damage vs ground from eight to ten.

ground damage was an issue, because ground could ignore bcs completely and you felt like you are shooting with spoons, before you hit attack+3 . That being said, they nerfed the damage from 10 to 8 because bcs actually won against anything on the ground, marines/hydras/stalkers. Now they are even faster since then, and i haven't heard about new anti air units on the ground except the widow mine. I mean before a queen could kite a bc on creep, but that doesn't work anymore.
Used bcs alot at that time and actually thought they would debuff the damage before they did it. Now it is back and almost nothing has changed except that the bc isn't the slowest unit ingame anymore. I am curious how this will play out now, because at that time no one went for upgrades so fast.

Oh and of course at that time infested terrans weren't used and fungal didn't killed the viking support so easily.

Glad they didn't removed reaper speed though. But i could name them a few other changes they could revert that woudn't hurt the balance as bad as 2 damage extra on bc ground. Not that i mind, it is one of my favorite units.
