Sorry, kind of a useless thread but I'm really looking forward to those interviews.

I just get the feeling that both Browder and Kim are really just failing and don't have a solid insight into the pro scene, or - weirdly - the game they're making

I'd prefer if the questions had been more to the point. E.g. how they were reasoning when they were tweaking the queen energy/range and how they think reapers should work in HOTS.

If internal is still alpha, they hopefully know they have got a long way to go.

It is good to hear that they willing to make up their own minds, since listening to everyone would pretty much ruin the game. That would be the first time I hear anyone praise Blizzard for their unwillingness to listen.

Discussing balance seems a bit pointless now, seeing the huge changes HotS gonna bring very soon. Edit: Oh got the Wraith? Sweet :D

Try to listen to Stephano and Idra at the same time about zvp match-up. (not saying one of two is right or something) This would be nonsense. I'm glad they don't listen to anyone (who calls himself or is called a pro). Not saying of course, that all pros are making stuff up, on the contrary, but filtering is needed.

But as long as they let the game only be slightly ruined by the community, its still okay with me.

I think Pro Koreans would be much more valuable for balance contributions, than other foreigners who tend to be more vocal about potential imbalance.

Every time Blizzard has listened to the community regarding something, it has made the game better. Remember when the Ladder was going to have different maps than tournaments, specifically "aggressive maps"? Yeah that didn't really work out.

No, he said he had 30 minutes booked. Perhaps he is making a pretty compilation or something went wrong (sick / cancelled?).

Its only natural for them to live up to the hype. You must always meet the expectations you set, as otherwise you fail in the eyes of many even if the product ends up being decent (looks at diablo 3).

If you expected an on stage interview in front of a huge crowd to be anything other than what it was, you have unreasonable expectations lol. Big stage interviews are always fluff.

This. I kind of looked forward to this interview the most out of all the stuff this weekend, because the liquid ones are the only interviews with substance and we probably get to know more about HotS through it than through the Battle Reports. An ETA would be nice.

Another interview: These are short and for the most part, there are only one or two questions that haven't really been asked before (or answered yet in the past). I think this is the first time David Kim talks about Fewer Resources per Bases though. IMO, I now think HotS (specifically with the Protoss since the whole deathball + stay on two or three base syndrome is the worse with them) will help fix those issues. I like the new Tempest (it's not just an a-move unit anymore, it's a long range support attacking unit) and the Oracle, neither really contribute to the ball of death. However, I do notice that David Kim mentioned they wanted Terran players to "be able" to play like Protoss if they wanted (AKA they could just sit on three bases and make a mech ball of death then do one final game ending push). We'll have to see how it goes.

This depends on payment model they shoot for. If they charge it as a full price game then you probably wont need wings of liberity, but if they charge it as an Expansion, you will need WOL +HOTS . But HOTS will probably only cost around $40

http://au.gamespot.com/starcraft-ii-heart-of-the-swarm/videos/interview-with-the-production-director-of-starcraft-2-6381781/ Unfortunately a lot of the questions have been covered before a lot of reactions to community reactions and hand wringing over lan, but one that was interesting to me was that Clan support would be coming to both WoL and HotS.
