If I swear and use racial slurs infront of clients at work, I'm fired. Why? Because I'm representing my company. How is it any different for Destiny to swear and use racial slurs infront of clients (aka people who buy products from his sponsers) and younger kids who look up to him as a role model. If you think he's losing his freedom of speech...please step back and look at the big picture. He's in a position of influence (to a degree) to a fan base. He needs to become more professional...it's simple. No company wants to be associated with racial slurs and constant swearing. Look at this from a corporate stand point, not a protesting teenage/young adult point of view. You'll understand it if you do because companies are in this for money, not to have laughs and fun.

This is a fucking disgrace, he's getting punished because the white knight TL/Reddit idiots decided he's not allowed to use word/words protected by his free speech. Before anyone replies remember that you don't have to like what people say, but you have no right telling them they can't say it. Grow a fucking backbone. That's whats wrong with you people, you assume your given the right to take away someones free speech because you think a set of words are "hurtful". This is what wrong with society today, you think your entitled to this bullshit. What does any of this have to do with "free speech"? Everyone has the legal right to say anything they want, just like other people have the legal right to call those same people out. Or even yell out into a crowd and be like, "Hey everyone, check out this asshole and what he's saying." All of that speech is free speech. If anyone is anti-speech, you are on the saying that people "have no right" to state their opinion. Nobody think that Destiny doesn't have the 'right' to say whatever he wants. But private places like this forum also have the right to moderate it as they wish.

He is no longer someone who can represent "pro gamers" or professional starcraft 2 players. I'd say mission complete, job well done. 1) Destiny is not gone. Most of his income came from streaming and I really doubt this will hurt those numbers much at all 2) He never wanted to represent "esports" or pro-gamers 3) This witch hunt literally accomplished nothing other than possibly pissing off some sponsors which doesn't even effect Destiny. 4) Destiny probably sees this as a positive thing (other than his 30 day suspension from the TL featured stream list) And in the end, once again, the hundred + page drama threads accomplish absolutely nothing at all. Well done fellas.

Or how about calling someone a jew bag mother fucker, Or yo bitch ass motherfucker, how's it going? I have to ask, what kind of unprofessional place do you work at? Destiny has never been a favorite player of mine, neither has he been one I've hated. In fact, Destiny has given me many laughs on the few times that I've tuned into his stream. E-sports, at least in starcraft 2 is shifting, whether for better or worse I can not guess at, yet. My main problem with this is the fact that certain community members feel like they are entitled to decide how someone can or can not talk. If you don't like how someone presents themselves, that's your right, but do you really feel the need to take it to this level? Not only are you endangering a players career, a player that asks nothing from you except that you watch his games but even worse, you're endangering an entire team. Going after someones rights is absurd and disgusting, going after their paycheck is nearly as bad. I feel like we, as a community have started to slump. I dislike it, yet I can only do my part. I'm sorry this had to end this way Destiny, I am sorry for the bad media Quantic has gotten as well and more importantly, I'm sorry that a small vocal minority feel the need to seek retribution for perceived wounds that are superficial at best. TL&DR Certain members of the community need to mature.

I'm sure sponsors are happy to know that he's not representing them ![]() 4. Positive to have a lot less advertising and never be flown to an event again? Does not compute.

Lol how was this the first opportunity? Just watch his stream and take screenshots. Why weren't you watching his stream to take screenshots and audio clips in order to fight for esports justice?

I HIGHLY disagree. Without shows like SoTG, LO3, Inside The Game, etc... These issues might not get resolved! Like it or not(which I do) the hosts/pillars of these shows have really good input on tackling these things when they come up. They can help guide the community in how it should respond and react in these situations. I appreciate and welcome the information that comes out of these shows.

I don't think it's fair to think of it in terms of his personal stream viewers as clients. He has always had his stream, which he runs on his own, and it has always been this way. His team knew it when they picked him up, so nothing he said or did on it should have been a surprise, his behaviour has pretty much always been like this. I think you'd be right if he did this at a tournament or on a show or at a live event, basically anywhere but his personal stream, since then he would directly be representing his team. But what he does on his own time, in his own place, shouldn't effect what he does at work. If you use racial sluts in front of clients, sure you'd be fired, but if you used them at home you wouldn't. I suppose you can make the argument that it's public enough he shouldn't do it, but I don't think that holds up since they decided to pick him up and sponsor him while knowing he already did all kinds of stuff like this. These complaints would appear every few months on Reddit, TL, SOTG, etc. It was only a matter of time before a bunch of people got upset and complained about it, and if it hadn't occurred this time it would've later. Every time he used such language, he risked his career with Quantic, his teammates careers with Quantic, and the careers of players on teams with the same sponsors of Quantic. The guy basically gave up a source of income so he could say "nigger", "gook", and "faggot" on stream in front of 4k people. Not to mention he has a young child to support, which costs a shit ton of money. I can't imagine explaining to my kid that I wanted to be able to call people offensive shit so that's why I don't have the money to buy him new clothes or something. All he had to do was give an apology and censor himself, like he does every tournament - maybe it would've been disingenuous, but the only person who really got hurt here is Destiny and potentially his innocent little kid. It's really sad. I hope he learns to grow up, for his own sake.

His avg viewer count has also increased lately (due to the advertising of these threads). There's not such thing as bad publicity and his name has been at the top of SC2 general for a few days now.

No professional company in any country allows for such crap. As for all these "the fans being entitled" posts. You do realise this is all circular logic right? Telling people they should shut up for being entitled is basically doing the same thing they are doing but contradicting yourself.
