What about if he is just going standard reaver (no cutting probes for the two zealots) and then goes the classic 2 zeal 1 tank drop? What is the best combo of units to get or upgrades?

his reav drop should do almost no dmg, and you can then do some cool micro tricks with 1 ship with 2 tanks and a wraith vs 1 shuttle and 2 goons, if you can kill his shuttle with youre wraith (works often if it already took dmg when he tried dropping his reav), he will have to wait for a new one before he can expo. this build is pretty weak if he goes for a normal (not special 6v9) build, but you should scout this and adapt to it, only get the wraith if you know hes going for early drops. i never try to drop his min line early with my ship, tosses always see this coming and youll just lose a tank or maybe even the ship.

oh also, make sure u can see the minerals at your natural with a building or something. You may need to be able to transfer your units there in a hurry when he drops, and u ant them to go through each other, not hitting.

Vultures don't do shit to reavers, especially if micro'd with a shuttle. Making 8 marines is a waste of minerals and a gamble. You need a quicker ebay and tanks or a wraith if you know he wont be dropping any goons.

he said its 9v6 where the toss goes for very early 2 zeal 1 goon drop to try to either take out youre tank or atleast slow down youre turrets. if you dont get rines vs this and you 1 fac port you are automatically dead, youre going to have so many trouble saving youre 1 tank, and when the reav comes, youre dead. best thing to do is to get like 3-4 rines, so you dont lose youre tank vs the first drop, and then get a wraith + siege vs the second drop. you dont need a bay if you get a wraith. 2 fac tanking is also good, but this is imo a worse build then fac port if he doesnt try to drop/doesnt follow his first drop up with reavs. marines are way useless against this, firstly it is important to scout it, make any gay attempt to scan toss tech even gather trick. If u know he is robo early or even see bay, u may eigher go engeneering bay(turrets) with siege tanks into expand. Or starport with the wraith...

I can show you many replays where Terran players easily defeats Reaver drop by swiftly get turrets at the right moment. You need to place your tanks and turrets well. Very often a well defended mineral line provokes some major mistake by the Protoss. If Protoss don't manage to kill some scv then he's been set on a major drawback, expand and macro hard.

Yes fact port is good to get wraith ... But i think another viable strategy is gundam to play mines around base + u get tanks ---> port for a wraith and drops to drop vult/tank ive been doing it recently and it seems to be a strong counter

aggressively hunt/kill shuttle, manage your defense and win pumping 2 volleys into it before he even loads makes a huge difference
