Since this whole topic degenerated into the usual balance flamefest where every topic ends up if unmoderated it's time for it to clean up. Locking this down for a while. Any posts made after my post [page 233] not addressing the changes in this patch directly and containting flames or general balance whine will get banned for at least a week. ~Nyovne

Game Options
Added three privacy settings to the Options menu under the Battle.net section.
Only allow friends to send me invites.
Only allow friends to send me chat messages.
Set status to Busy when playing a game.

These will really help the pros/casters

Immortal/stalker/templar composition will be much more potent now. Consider how much the roach range buff changed the game. Now it won't be as big, since the immortal is a more costly and advanced tech unit, but I still expect for Toss to be noticeably more effective. The fungal nerf certainly doesn't help.

Immortals are nigh useless against Zerg late game of Infestor Brood. It will make the Protoss midgame stronger, but virtually every Protoss in the late game will be going Colossus/Templar as opposed to Immortals since they really aren't that great when you have to go up against Infestors and Broods

Repeated control group and selection commands will no longer count as unique actions for APM calculation purposes.

Fixed an issue where Drone attacks could be more easily dodged than SCV or Probes.


APM nerf Was this really necessary? This has been around for 10 years and they're taking it out because people spam too much?

Canceling more than one of the same structure at the same time as Zerg will add all Drones to the selection.
Improved Larva placement when the bottom edge of a hatchery is on a cliff edge to prevent Larva from getting killed.

Both of these are awesome for zerg, Catz will be thrilled about the second one with his proxy hatch haha

I will repeat it one more time since the thread go so fast.

The Infestor nerf change how many fungal you need to kill Viking and Voidray.
That's pretty huge.

Yes! Divine justice! Thank you Blizzard now at least not all my units will die when before I drop them in my opponent's base!

Nice patch to be honest, hellions I agree as well as Infestor, Blink maybe, we've seen HuK and White-Ra(at least me) do very good harass, Mothership, lol I hope we see some more.

Blizz is getting the hang of it!
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

Really good patch.

Although the immortal buff is going to have a very negative impact on zergs early game aggresion possibilities/possibility imo.

This change means that MLG replays will be released right?


Also, about the display of minerals regained for canceled/salvaged buildings, at first I was happy about this change, but now I don't really think it's that important. Only helps you to realize if your opponent made a mistake or not. And I guess helps more for casters than players.
How does it feel knowing you wasted another 3 seconds of your life reading this again?

I really hate the barracks time change. Normally in any Terran build you can make your OC right as soon as your barracks finishes without cutting any scv production time, but now you're going to have a moment of your CC not doing anything and just waiting for your barracks to finish.

Sentry Guardian Shield now correctly reduces damage from Hellion, Void ray, and Colossus attacks as well as the Siege Tank’s sieged attack.

Ok this is just the PTR, and I'm not really comfortable with huge patches, but I'm really excited about the warp prism & immortal buffs.

Also I'm glad that they keep improving the Editor.

Hmm, I really dislike the stalker and infestor nerfs even if they aren't particularly huge, nice buff for immortals and ultras though. Hellion nerf makes sense given the havoc wreaked by Slayers I guess.

To be fair, the nerf to blue flame hellions isn't that big, they can still clear your mineral line in a matter of seconds, it just takes them another shot to do it. It helps, but it's certainly not the end of blue flame hellions, they're still nasty.

I kinda agree, while some of these changes are still nice (Warp Prism for example), I feel that there are too many other big changes all at once before Blizzard actually giving the meta-game a chance to catch up this time. What happened to their philosophy of a little bit at a time while giving players a chance to solve the problems with evolving meta-games?

That's actually a huge change. Can't just set and forget drops now. It really reduces the effectiveness of terran multidrops.
