I'm a big advocate of smoking weed as you probably already knew by looking at which country it is that I reside. I've smoked weed while doing just about anything; playing sports, banging my gf, working, studying, etc.
I started playing SC2 ~3-4months ago and I am slowly starting to find that while my concentration and creativity go up while im high playing, I am stil playing at a lower level while im high.
I am in gold at end of season 2 and hoping to make it to diamond by end of season 3 or by the time september semester starts. I am starting to feel like maybe i cant play this game blazed if I want to play at a high level which brings me to why I'm posting this on here.
Are there any known pro gamers who smoke weed while playing or really any of you TL members who are masters+. Do any of you really experienced players smoke weed while you play?
One of my teammates smoked weed and he was really good, but I think he would be better off weed as well. I also know someone who used to do a lot of drugs (harder ones) just to play better in games.
Hey mate, I'm certainly not masters+, but I just made plat, and I find that I can't play very efficiently when I'm high. I'm definitely more creative (lair rush, proxy spine push or something) but I sometimes forget my +2 ups, or forget to make a spire when going BLs or something haha =) Although I do micro like fuckin SelecT when I'm baked xD
But as far as progamers that blaze, I can't think of one.

Im Canadian. Whoops. Ya i guess "progaming" has become preety serious with sponsors etc. It was never like this in the days of cs 1.6 where everyone smoked weed openly whether they were on sponsored teams or not. This is why i asked if any high level players could comment on this
It is pretty common knowledge than many progamers(outside of Korea) smoke weed, considering that a considerable % of the population of many western countries admit to smoking marijuana. Some progamers also do other drugs to enhance concentration, stay focused for long hours (i.e. Adderall, Ritalin, etc).
That said, the public has no business knowing these kinds of details.
I see this question a lot, I'm not really sure why though... is it because you want to relate to them on some level or because you want to know if you can go pro while smoking weed? If it's the latter, I can't see why you couldn't, but I can understand why, especially sponsored players, can't or won't discuss it to protect the image of their team or sponsor.

One reason pot is still illegal is the manner in which it's discussed. So stop talking about it like bro-ey 19 year olds.

Progamers = late teens or college aged kids = 90% of them do weed, but they probably aren't going to publicly disclose this due to contracts or possible negative backlash.

I've smoked several times. It's a disgusting feeling for me. Slows my brain down and I just wind up very, very annoyed.

I'm also in favor of 100% legalizing all hard drugs in the US. Making something illegal to protect us from ourselves is heinously unamerican, and has caused tens, if not hundreds of thousands of deaths and victims worldwide of the drug cartels.
Legalize, regulate. More income for the states from people who would do something anyways is always a good thing. Other countries have also demonstrated that deaths and addiction also goes down in this scanario.

mid masters zerg here. I smoke weed a lot, but when I play it makes it.... interesting lol. doesn't really change how I play, but it changes the way I perceive what's going on. Overall I'd say smoking and then playing isn't a good idea, but that's just me personally. I could see it helping others with nerves, mindset, things like that.

Toally unrelated, but thats just pure gold. Laughed a lot. On topic though, having a hard time seeing someone admit it publicly and being contracted to a team really. Still if many people percieve it not to be harmful in anyway, the major public still does. So I dont think sponsors would be glad to hear that theyir player is smoking weed etc.

Plenty of good players smoke. Plenty of bad players smoke. A huge amount of people smoke. There are CEOs, doctors, teachers, police officers, scientists, etc. that smoke. If you can think of any profession out there, chances are, there are people involved who smoke.
It doesn't make you play "worse in all aspects". If you knew even the most basic principles of cannabinoids, you'd know this. I'm not saying it will improve every aspect of your play, but it certainly won't hinder every single aspect either. It does more than simply hinder your reaction time. There are other effects. Read up.
I don't bring up my smoking habits (or lack thereof) ever unless relevant (which is almost never). I don't see a need to discuss something that I choose to put into my own body. That said, I despise ignorance, which the topic of discussion tends to be full of.

nobody is asking for an argument. i dont know why people who dont care about the post come on to give their .02. This doesnt make sense to me. I didnt realize that these progamers were considered "athletes" but even if they are "athletes" i know people who are drafted to NHL teams that will admit to smoking weed every once in a while.
Just to be clear I was not trying to troll anyone or put any pro athletes careers in jeapordy. was simply asking a question and trying to see if anyone could relate to me having trouble playing sc2 high when ive done multiple other activites high.
