If you have any experience with regedit, then you shouldn't have a problem. If you don't... I will post instructions here (for Win 2000 OS), but I'm not a professional, so if you break something.. I can't really take the blame :O Basically just don't touch or delete ANYTHING that doesnt make sense to you. Hah. Okay here is how you add Starcraft's install path to your registry: 1. Go to the Start Menu -> Run , type in 'regedit' into the search box, press 'ok' 2. Go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Blizzard Entertainment -> Starcraft . This is a folder, and it should have a bunch of weird looking registry data. 3. Look for 'InstallPath' . In my case, my InstallPath was missing. If you have the registry string name 'InstallPath' , then double-click on it and type in the address thing for your starcraft folder (mine is C:\\USER\\INSTALL\\Games\\Strategy\\Starcraft ) . If that's it, then you're done. 4. If you don't have the key 'InstallPath', right-click on either the starcraft folder tab, or in the window with all the starcraft string values, in the right-click menu, go to New -> String Value . This will create a new string value, type 'REG_SZ'. Rename it to 'InstallPath' , and then modify the string value to your starcraft folder's address as in step 3. 5. Close the registry editor. So that's it.. I didn't have any problems doing it, and I know how much trouble it is to reinstall. If anyone has any criticisms or notice any mistakes, please post it. You can really screw up your computer if you don't know what you're doing in regedit. I repeat that. You can really REALLY screw up your computer if you don't know what you're doing. If anything looks strange, its better not to mess with it. However hopefully its straightforward and you will have a working starcraft in minutes :> ~good luck Edit: oh, and chances are you'll need administrator priveleges to your computer to use regedit, so if you dont have an administrator account, it might be easier to just reinstall starcraft. | ||
