Btw, @Tyler, If you're not supposed to scroll how do you get around the map besides hotkeys. You just answered your own question. What do you need to look at that a hotkey won't get you to? Maybe the edges of your base or the fog ahead of your army as it is revealed by their movement? Stuff like that. Both of these require a very small amount of scroll.

It's like when people ask me "what is the best skateboard brand?" or "what paintball marker is the best" well...it's what you like, I know people that stand by Zero boards, but I like Mystery and Baker, same kinda thing in paintball, some people love Invert Mini's and I really like the TM15 and DP G3's.

That's not true. There is no exact number, but there can be an optimal range. In FPS games it's very widely accepted that low sensitivity (and I mean low) is the best. Sure you can get comfortable with a higher sensitivity, but it's much harder to achieve the same level of control (or maybe impossible) that you'd get with a lower sensitivity. There's a reason every single FPS pro plays with really low sensitivity, and it's not just coincidence. As for Starcraft though, it probably doesn't matter as much unless you really need to be clicking on individual units a lot. I would say a low-mid sensitivity would be optimal because most of the movements are rather large sweeping motions and the things you click on are big (like buildings or even most units) but it's not so high that you'd have a hard time clicking a zergling. For finding your best sensitivity try to do mouse exercises in the game. Click on a mineral patch then click on a far away mineral patch and keep going back and forth. If you're constantly overshooting it lower your sensitivity, and if you're constantly undershooting it raise it. If you can consistently click the mineral on various sensitivities make the exercise harder by introducing patrolling units, and obviously the smaller the unit is the harder it'll be.

Not actually true. Sensitivities in certain ranges minimise pixel-skipping, which makes you more accurate. the common thing i hear is 6/11 in windows and 51% ingame

But if you care about having the most precise movement you need a mouse with 2000 DPI or higher. If its a lot lower then your mouse movements won't be completely accurate if you keep ingame & windows settings standard.

edit: 65% mouse sensitivity, 35% scroll speed. i only scroll when i'm microing, i hotkey to get around everything else. duno how you guys play at like 50%+ scroll speed, that's insane.

im actually very surprised that you guys play at 50% scroll speed. maybe mine is too high. My friend plays with 50% and i feel that it's mindnumbingly slow.
