I flew to Korea to watch this finals, and it was an enthralling experience. Despite the one-sided result, it was a beauty to watch Flash play his god-level TvP, the matchup that initially launched him to fame, on the biggest stage for the last time. What a great way for the greatest player of all time to go out.
Afreeca really puts a lot of work into the production quality of the ASL and I'm really grateful that there is still this level of dedication to BW in 2019. The passion that goes into this game was palpable when I was sitting in the stands. I wish I could better articulate how lucky I feel to have been able to experience this moment in BW history.

From the games I've seen Flash play only Best and sometimes Stork give Flash trouble in late game. As you've seen in the series Flash got into the late game pretty comfortably and was able to crush through.
It feels like a lot of protoss have forgotten how to execute old fashioned late game pvt versus giant tank armies with the depots etc.
Though yeah it doesn't count with Flash. He just looks flawless.
Any idea when Afreeca is going to post the final? it has been close to 48 hrs trying to stay spoiler free which is pretty much "mission impossible" and is also frustrating. thanks

You are doing it wrong, game was uploaded soon after the finals in Afreeca and youtube. Of course Youtube blocked it but you can find it in afreeca platform. The link is somewhere in this thread, or you may just make a search in afreeca for "aslenglish". I know because I saw it that way.
It sorta sucks that flash's last tournament win was such a bulldozer, but then again it makes total sense. He's the GOAT, a god among mortals. His play is so perfect he makes it look like there's nothing P can ever do to win vs Terran.
With his retirement we really are losing a lot :\ . Thanks for showing us what's possible Flash. Hope you recover your health and go through your military service smoothly.

Any other Terran in the world would have lost those tanks.
Every game seemed like Flash was maphacking. Unbelievable game sense and timing with his pushes.

TvZ might be his strongest matchup.
Between his two 2-3 losses to EffOrt (Korean Air Starleague 2010 and ASL6), Flash only lost one TvZ series. That was almost a decade of being undefeated outside of Bo1s.
This series was something. I haven't watched much BW since the last ASL and decided to watch Flash's final tournament finals and he squashed Snow like a bug haha. Granted, watching Snow's play, it felt obvious that he was playing subpar from his usual? His micro in game 1 and the constant vulture drops/runbys or the odd recalls etc... Unlike ASL5 where his play felt on point. Must've been his nerves. On the other hand, Flash defended well and played mostly fantastically throughout the whole series to cap off another finals and is now 3-3-4.
Well played Flash. Rough for Snow fans. Would still recommend the finals though and hopefully we see Flash play 1v1 in the future again. This win further confirms that Flash is the GOAT in BW, above Nada and the rest. The guy that re-fueled all the tesagi talk lol. Good thing Tesagi doesn't exist.
While there's no point in now saying how Snow should've done it right on Tripod, this Stork v Flash game from this other thread shows perhaps Snow was just missing some deeper thoughts / understanding of BW & PvT.
Here we can see Stork killing all but the middle egg, which makes it easier for dragoons but tanks still trip over. Also, he had standing army while going for the carriers expanding to both directions keeping the one further.
The pylon stop at the third, untaken main base was genius move as well.
Don't misunderstand me, I know this game is nothing like it would have been were they playing offline but there are still some example steps here that show how to lead win v Flash.

That is really awesome. You'll remember that forever. Thanks for sharing.

I think it is not down to Tesagi but rather Flashsagi instead. His read on the game as well as his timing push is what other Terran players need to learn from, especially versus Protoss. In my opinion, Protoss was at its weakest during the period of transitioning to Carriers (or when the Carrier count is low) and that was when Flash delivers the killing blow on game 3.
That said, I think the best PvTer of all time is Jangbi. Snow lost the mind games and seems to crack under pressure, perhaps he was nervous against Flash.

I wonder how much is learnable and how much is Flash's uncanny abilities to predict what's coming and make the best choice under pressure. It's one thing to analyze outside of the game but it's just amazing how great his decision making is even during intense micro/macro. That's why Flash is so scary going in to late game because he doesn't seem to succumb to the mental burden of increased management requirements as much as other players. My favorite Flash matchups were the super long tvts where he just continues to make solid little decisions while the opponent slowly breaks down.

That was the amazing thing about FanTaSy though, in TvT he seemed to somehow always have a way to throw FlaSh off even in the lategame. The tving OSL semi finals were a perfect example of that and it just goes to show how someone who plays in a completely opposite style to Flash can beat him.
yeah i wish fantasy had come back to bw earlier to able to challenge flash in a competitive 1v1...his strong knack for identifying and executing harass/risky timings has no terran equal...
