Now for a pre-tournament interview with their captain FlaShFTW!
FlaShFTW: What we might lack in skill we will make up for in PASHUN and fun games
Q: Tell me a bit about yourself and your team A: We are the Teamliquid Brood War staff, helping with coverage of all things Starcraft Brood War! My name is Gregory "FlaShFTW" Lu, I'm the captain for our TL staff team. I used to commentate for the Afreeca Starleague part-time from seasons 2-4, and occasionally stream on twitch.
Q. Are your team looking forward to competing in the STPL? A: Well of course, that's why we signed up!
Q. Who would you say your strongest player is? A: I haven't played with -2pac yet, but everyone else on this team I've seen play or have played against. I would say v1 is our strongest player, but he plays scummy Protoss so who cares.
Q. Are you worried about anyone? A: Pretty much everyone haha. Ironically our staffers for the game are not the greatest in terms of MMR. But what we might lack in skill we will make up for in PASHUN and fun games. Of course, Soul Gaming with 1 pro and 1 semi-pro in Miso and Scan are going to be extremely scary.

I wanted to do a stupid joke at which I seem to have failed at ^^ ... hope that no one got offended :S Having 2pac posted his actual race makes it either even worse or actually funny again xD

Now for a pre-tournament interview with their captain W4rr10r!
W4rr10r: I look forward to the most, meeting other clans and maybe to end up having a good and friendly relationship to them
Q. Tell me a bit about yourself and your team Hey guys, I’m RedW4rr10r, the leader of Clan Red. I’ve been around on battle.net since around 2004 but am truly committed to this awesome game since 2009 and have started playing 1v1 since then. I’ve got to know a lot of cool and nice people which made it even more fun to me to play this game. My home channel has always been op red on any server I was online which was mainly iCCup in the later stages and at some point op red’s community was big enough that always someone was online and hanging around in that channel (even till this day!).
Someone came up with the idea why not founding a Red clan (this was referring to my name and to the channel we were in) and when things got a bit more serious at the time when the beta season for BWCL was announced, we in fact ended up founding a clan – and here we are, being active and present as much as possible in different leagues that are being hosted.
Originally, we started as a pure german clan but shortly after a lot of non-germans joined us so we’re up to around 30 members in total today. We were even able to split our clan into three squads to let as many people play as possible in BWCL. That is super awesome to see, everything is running so smoothly despite having so much organization stuff to do. I mean, that wouldn’t be possible, if I had to do everything myself, so I’m glad a few members are willing to support me. In this regard shoutouts to KuH, cReAtiVee, fischei and derkavich.
Q. Are your team looking forward to competing in the STPL? A.Of course we are! It’s great being able to compete in different leagues that all have a different format and (mostly) different teams. Also, it’s a great opportunity to meet new people and maybe make some new cool friends such as Clan iRk. We had a lot of clan wars with iRk within a relative short time and it was always a pleasure to play against them, they’re super nice! And this is something I look forward to the most, meeting other clans and maybe to end up having a good and friendly relationship to them as well. Well, and of course we’re looking forward the clan wars themselves. It’s such a cool feeling hanging around in the respective clan war channel and wait for the players to finish their matches. Although I mostly do nothing else but sitting there and being nervous, it’s so much fun to me.
Q. Who would you say your strongest player is and why? A.I’m sure that eriador and Cryoc are our top players playing for our team in STPL. Both of them are very experienced players and have been around for a very long time, knowing this game so well. Also, Herb is not to be underestimated, either, as well as our founder member fischei. And then we have KuH in our roster who has more of an oldschool playstyle which won us a few games in the past. So all in all I’m confident with our roster.
Q.. Out of all the other teams, who are you most worried about facing?
A. I think I’d say Soul Gaming. They have the real progamer Miso in their roster. But either way, it’s a good opportunity to play vs. strong players you wouldn’t normally meet, so I’m looking forward to seeing them “on stage” during STPL after all. But then again, one shouldn’t be worried about meeting certain clans but, instead it’s more important to have fun.
Q. Any feedback? A. No, it’s just awesome the way it is. Also, Qikz is a great caster, I’m definitely looking forward to his casts!
One other bit of news, I made the Matcherino page for the STPL today and thanks to an extremely generous donation by Gabrielverlaine the prize pool for the league sits at $500!
Wow, this is amazing. Cant wait for this to start, are the play dates coming soon? So many foreign players to root for! How come eon isnt playing it tho
