You are incorrect in seemingly both assumptions. Firstly, my post was regarding the stream this evening. Not about the maps for the next round.
Secondly, I have no interest in saving face. I give my 2 cents whenever I feel it's due, even if I know it'll be for deaf ears, as I think it's important to voice one's opinions. And the fact that Qikz is always pointing out that he wants feedback, means there's absolutely no reason to "save face". I'm neither praising nor complaining - it just is what is is.
We have an entire month to practice the maps before they're going to see the light of day in STPL. I know there's going to be less time for practicing the new maps for you guys in the playoffs, as you've got your games to prepare for. But even so, if people don't even have the time to practice the new maps or can't deal with them, then quite frankly I don't know what the hell they're doing in this clan league.
It might turn out to be a crappy round, for all I know. But at the very least I would much rather have a bad round, than there being a culture where we start avoiding too many maps. I don't think you fully appreciate how desolate the mappools will end up being if we keep narrowing it down everytime someone cries wolf.
That's why I don't complain. Feel free to disagree with my opinion, but please don't assume we're all spineless sycophants just because we don't share yours.

THIS so much. I don't understand why you, SuGo, are complaining and crying so hard about this mappool. If you have to work 283989 hours a day, it's not our problem and you simply shouldn't get lined-up for the coming Round and everything is fine. Gosh dangit...

i think from the very begining what made Qikz different from the rest was his choice for maps and the following of korean format.looks like u didnt know what u were getting into exactly .

This. He's very openly fond of peculiar maps. I'm still waiting for plasma, to be honest. Not saying that you ranting is inappropriate or anything, it's just that a mappool like this wasn't exactly unexpected. Should be a factor when making decisions about participating. As for the entertainment value, we'll have to wait and see, won't we?

I can't add much as I'm waiting for the bus, but people said people wouldn't have great games on the round 1 pool and STPL Round 1 put that theory to bed. We've had some amazing games.

Unfortunately that was a bit of a flash in the pan cast. Hopefully Cadenzie will choose to continue casting, but Rapid can't cast at 4AM from Korea so them both being at my flat was a pretty once in a lifetime thing. I had a lot of fun though and while it wasn't my usual style of casting I think it was ok :D
I'm going to announce the playoff teams later this evening when I figure it all out and I'll need the lineups sent to me by Wednesday at 20:00CEST. Playoff Semi finals for round 1 will be next Sunday at the normal time.

So it's time, it's been 7 weeks already and the round 1 group stage has come to an end! At the end of Round 1, let's have a look at those results!

What does this mean exactly? Well, now we can finally introduce the 4 top teams, 2 from Group A and 2 from Group B.

Now, due to the complete tie between iRk and WHITECLAN we are going to head into a TIEBREAKER situation! This means before we can start the play offs we will need one more Bo5!

The Reason for the Tiebreak
To explain why there is a tiebreak in group B
I went with the tiebreaker angle because from every round robin style tournament I've ever seen (say OSL for instance) you'd always have tiebreakers to decide the final outcome.
I just want to make sure there is a clear winner results wise at the top of the group as otherwise it lends to a situation where one team wins because of a walkover in say week 1 due to some tragedy befalling a team then I don't think it's fair to say that they automatically should go through in first, I think you should have a tiebreak to decide.
I should've made this clear in the thread from the beginning, but it's one thing I never expected to actually happen. STPL has been so much closer than I could've ever possibly imagined[/center]
