The one time I got to watch, CaucasianAsian was a few seats away from me but we didn't know each other. And there were like only 2 dozen ppl there lol. You're pretty lucky to me

Well, it's the first time that I was not the only foreigner going to the games. When I went to watch bw before, I was always alone (sonic starleague or the vant starleague too).

I never watched iloveoov - his nickname 'Cheater Terran' speaks of his macro prowess.
Are Flash and iloveoov very similar in terms of play-style (strong in macro, weak in micro)? If they played in their prime during the same era, who would've been more dominating (over the rest of the field, not necessarily 1-on-1 TvT)?

Flash is basically the epitome of an SC player. Strong Macro, three-moves-ahead strategic decision-making, and excellent micro when it's needed. He's weak only in micro-heavy, low-economy games, but few players can counter his way of cutting corners to eke out a macro advantage. Only Jaedong at his prime would actually be able to stand up to him in a long series, and if given a set of maps both do not regularly play on, it would be a close series. As for rest-of-field advantage, I'd say that Flash has it, he's been to ten finals to oov's five, which means his consistency level's much higher.
Great insight!
Yeah, I always thought he was 'weak only in micro-heavy, low-economy games' - which was how Bisu took him out at the last BW Proleague ace match (what a scrappy but epic match that was!). But 'weak' being relative to his strengths, of course - I don't mean he's bad in micro at all.
I was reading somewhere earlier that Best could take on Flash straight-up macro. Would he be one of the best macro Protoss in modern times then?
Funny, I'd always picture Jaedong as an aggro player strong in early and mid game. Didn't quite know his macro could stand up to Flash's too!
JD has always been mechanically the strongest player, nobody could surpass his micro. I still remember his double muta stack on Blue Storm or his simultaneous muta splits in ZvZ. Being very good mechanically he outplayed a lot of players during his prime. Above that, he was one of the players to change ZvZ and ZvP meta and was, in my opinion, the epitome of a zerg player. Micro heavy, cunning and meticulous, rock solid in both early and late game. Just imagine, nobody except Flash was considered a threat to him.
JD always had that awesome winning pattern LWW or LLWWW which made ppl bite their nails and eat heart pills. Yes, JD had the balls to risk and do some amazing come backs in history and that is why so many ppl loved watching him play. It is only after those 0-3 losses to Flash he started to slowly fade away just at the time when Flash started his way to Olympus.
I wonder how would the history turn if Flash played protoss ?
Not sure about BW, but I do think that history would turn out quite differently if Flash played Protoss in SC2 (and a few others have said this too before).
His style would suit the SC2 Protoss macro defensive style, as perfected by Rain (who, being one of his BFFs, surely must have a lot of common with Flash in strategy and philosophy to talk about).
Photon overcharges and pylon warp-ins for his turtling, and death-ball timings for his game-sense (something that perhaps Zest picked off Flash?).
SC2 Terran generally seems stronger in early and mid-game. And the best approach to playing Terran has always been the all-action style of Maru. The only point where I thought Flash looked poise to dominate was at the end of HoTS, when late game mech was on a roll.
Would Flash fare better in LoTV with tankivacs and liberators adding more positioning and slow push layer to Terran play? Perhaps. With the early game extra workers, would it be easier for Flash to macro up, try crazy builds like fast triple CCs, and get into his comfort zone? Perhaps.
But here and now, it's great to have Flash back in BW!

AWWWWWW YISSSSSSSSSSSS I came back to TL to find BW is back to greatness! Thanks goodness. Can't describe how hyped I was watching these matches. SO happy
Just watched flash vs zero. Is this pure vulture tank the new meta? I was so disappointed by the lack of air interaction in the match up, the air dance on top of the ground battle was an important part of the match up from a spectator point of view. It felt a bit tame.
