except for the first day of playing, you can play virtually only gosu players, especially if you dodge people with bad records. if someone wants to start playing 2 weeks into the season and complains because it's gonna take 40 games of newb bashing before reaching the top 50, they got nobody to blame but themselves.

no, id been playing since the first day and was on the first page most of the time till i stopped for the last day or 2 and i had to play anyone willing as there werent alotta people my rank, and ive still had mostly bad players. even those who werent bad were average at best, by korean standards.

i guess your too good for pgtour

must you people take everything as a brag or a flame? stfu already.

what nony said was true, if a player with 60-30 challenges u and a player with 40-3 does the same i'd definetly play with the 2nd one, and most of the time it turns out i beat him 3-0 har har. Just try to play vs good records and all will be fine i guess

ya and the point was this season and last even the people with good stats are nowhere near the skill people with equivalent stats used to be. the only point here is that the overall level has gone down alot, and i dont see how anyone who has played the ladder both now and before can disagree with that.

i dont know, i guess i dont understand complaints about "too easy" unless the person complaining is #1 by a lot. if you can get 90% win against top 25 players, then it doesnt take long to actually get #1 with a significant lead, like beggarterran does everytime he plays. unless you actually put in an effort like that then you have no right to complain cuz you are just another part of the problem. im sure there's 20-30 people out there that dont try on pgt cuz they say it's too easy, or there's no prestige anymore, or there's no prize. but if all of them actually backed up what they say instead of poke around here and there just to convince themselves that it's true, then all of the sudden you'd have a surge of good players and it wouldnt be so easy anymore
once upon a time there was a thing called wgtour where all european gosus tried to be #1 and there was prestige. hell it was hard for many well-knowns to even reach 16 to get into the bracket. if you took away the top 30 of wgtour back in that day, and all those players just chilled on the ladder, not going for #1 but just keeping a good win percentage somewhere back in the ranks, then they'd all say it's easy and the ladder would be a failure
it's like running a race and when you are at the last 50m you say "ah i got plenty of energy, i have won easily, no need to finish" and so you quit, but the problem is that there's a bunch of ppl in the race saying exact same thing. what is the point?
idra this isnt directed at you exactly, but just a general feeling i get from the community. i dont know everyone's reasons for not trying on pgt, but i do know that many people complain about pgt. it would be nice if pgt could provide a cash prize, since that seems to be the only way to get people to try anymore. it almost seems to me that if pgt cant afford a cash prize, or find some way to gather a prize from the community, there's no point in considering the ladder competitive at all. it just turns into a place to go practice, which the top players dont need.

cocoa plays tvz zvp zvt. unless he switched.

its not not trying, its trying for a significant period of time and not really getting any rewards. even if you arent #1 and even if you are dont have incredible stats, if you keep playing among the top ranked players on the ladder and you arent getting good, competitive games theres not much reason to keep playing.
also the non korean players on pgt do not matter at all. the skill was good while alot of semi pros and some pros played, the skill got significantly worse when they all left last season, for whatever reason. the only way thats changing is if the koreans come back, it doesnt matter if non koreans are trying or not.

DeadVessel isn't necessary to quote the post and add there like "excellent post" or something like that.
Not the longest post but still kinda long.

Sorry I edited it. ><
Back on topic. I don't think Do.o is Draco like some people were saying last season, look at his race statistics or w/e Do.o

some foreigners who got a+ without beeing very/extreme good (best of europe or sth) blamed the whole ladder imo.
if u got an A+ acc 5 seas ago, there was alot of attention. nowdays "average" massgamers went a+ and lost in all tourneys or arent even known at all, so its no motivation to get a good rank anymore.
there is/was so much abuse that you cant invite a player just by his rank or stats to a tourney or team.
