ughh... chances are very unlikely... but hey stay with me good KT buddy :D
Can someone give me a quick info summary about valkaryies?
They destroy mutas? How much can you micro with them/against them. Edit: What should I be looking for? Probably least seen unit I see in BW except scout.

Valks do splash damage, very good against muta clumps. You can make them move while shooting a volley, but that's about it as far as micro goes. Needs 3-4 valks at least. And the single one he had got scourged...

I don't know why Hoejja wasn't scouting for the push out, i mean it was like the only thing Sea could do to win was make a two base push. And Hoejja was actively scouting with mutas what Sea was doing so idk why he didn't see push out.
Could've brought back the four lurkers, and waited till hive to crush.

Actually, judging from IEM. It seems the korean meta in TvZ now is hellion/banshee into mech. Instead of trying to hit the pre-BL timing which is what a lot of terrans did. Terrans are trying to go late late game.
Well this triple factory tank is a bit of a counter to ling/infestor into ultras. So many zergs go ultra first that this 3 tanks at a time just rapes ultras so bad.
But lord baby lost alot and was caught unsieged T_T.

Not like it really mattered, he was playing it safe. He had such a bank that he could have made a retard attack and he'd still be fine ^^.

Just too much of an overwhelming air army for Baby to deal with while trying to transition to his own.
There's never time to transition into ravens for terran in any map other than metropolis because of the ridiculously huge rush distance and even there it's not that easy. You can see it in other maps only when the zerg has already lost the game but didn't leave.

Because he has the pressure to win now, but against GOM players he can play 100% relaxed.

I saw your post and then checked Liquidpedia. How in the hell does Jaedong beat Genius after only playing this game for 3-4 months?

pressure is different between spl and vs gom players. if they lose, its what they should do, no pressure.

Jaedong's not the tyran for nothing am I right? :D. (I was just as surprised as you when I woke up and saw the results).
Thank god we have Jaedong, besides seeing DRG do the early multiple ling scouting..there has been no zergs doing this ffs. Why isn't early scouting standard, for pylons/proxies/whatever. Some terrans are starting to do it as well(flash, alive comes to mind).
are we going to see some awesome roach aggression from jaedong? pressure and deny the third, once the third gets up prevent the fourth and starve the toss
this is identical to the last zvp jaedong played on antiga, i cant remember vs who though, perfect mulitasking and aggression from jaedong, finding the exact moment he needed to attack,
Jaedong looks scary good. Amazing force field baiting and army splitting. Stephano was doing that a bit earlier today on his stream, and I've noticed a few more zergs experimenting with it in general. Will be fun to see how this develops
It's kind of funny how disparate the skill levels in SPL are getting. Jaedong is really scary, Wooki had one control group. JD is outclassing his opponents, which is nice for him, but most of his opponents aren't really challenging him.
He's more dominant in Proleague, but his WCS games have been better to watch.
On August 18 2012 17:27 Asha` wrote: Fucking beautiful forcefield baiting from JD.
That was meticulous
I think meticulous was the right word. Jaedong let basically nothing to chance with the scouting of the warp prism early on and that attack that was so precisely timed in order to indeed waste the sentry energy, before closing in in one point once the protoss army finally got separated !
On August 18 2012 17:29 IshinShishi wrote: Pretty sure jaedong surpassed his master at least in when it comes to his strat.
I agree, stephano usually has 1,5k minerals at the point where he loses some of his army, jaedong nailed pretty much every inject, made 60 lings / 15 roaches at once and went down to 200 minerals immediately while microing his roach army extremely well

Stephano and other zergs have been doing this for a long time. It has kind of fallen off in the meta game because protoss have gotten really good in using forcefields to catch units which Wooki didn't do at all (not even 2-3 roaches).
Having said that, Jaedong's execution was very very good.

I like watching units rallied across the map because they don't have a chance to clump up, so they stay spread out and BWesque, at least until they reach they rally point.
Heh, Jaedong "SC2 is like a woman you come to like as you get to know her". I can kind of see that. Though, I suppose it's more "SC2 is like a game you come to like as you start beating everyone at it" for him.

Agreed, when they were spread out like that it gives a much better feeling of 'swarming' and like you said, is closer to BW.

He pulled drones to try to punish movies nexus first, but movie made a gateway to finish wall so he had to pull his drones back (he also made quiet a few lings to).
I'm not normally a fan of these gateway all-ins, but after an opening like that, it's better for Movie to just go kill Action and not give him a chance to make a comeback.
I can't even make fun of Action for that, because I might've tried the same, but I just love how Movie was just like "Nope" and that was the all-in stopped cold.
Well, honestly, Flash isn't bad at SC2, and I think he'll be scary eventually, but I guess it's better to delay the JvF match until Flash is capable of matching JD in SC2.
To be fair, I think Flash would have little chance against JD, so this is probably the "right" move. Then again, PL needs to make drama and good shows to stay popular post BW
I am guessing Flash must not be best KT player yet for sc2 as he hasn't been out for an ace match in awhile. I mean can't blame them Jaedong's been playing so fucking sick he's got to be one of the best kespa players easily.

Their coaching staff seems to disagree xD.
I mean they have to know it's JD for ace he's been ace for the past like 8 matches or something like that.
Excellent decision by the KT coach, as using flash as ace all the time will make preparations for the ace match by the opponent easier. Flash and Stats taking turns to be ace is a good strategy

Even though Liquid'Hero knocked him out of WCS, I still kind of think Soulkey is the best KeSPA SC2 player, but Jaedong is making a strong case for himself.
Given his well-known Stephano fanboyism, I think Jaedong's the only one of TLBS who actually likes SC2, and it's showing. Flash is doing okay on pure work ethic, but the game has clicked for Jaedong is a way I don't think it has for anyone else in Proleague, and his skill level is starting to shoot leagues ahead of everyone else. He's arguably code S level already, and I shudder to think where he'll be in another few months.

No.. KT has to win everyone of their games to get into playoffs
Actually... now that I think about it... KT v 8 has gone to ace match everytime but been JD v Lizzy, Jaehoon v Flash, and now Stats v JD. I sense conspiracy T_T
honestly that game doesn't need a replay analysis. you could maybe show the drone pull fail but after that it's either fast forward or end of the analysis. it was over.
Bah, I want to keep KTs playoff hopes alive by Flash > Jaedong but when it is Jaedong vs stats I prefer Jaedong..i don't want him to lose to Stats but I want KT to win. God dmamit KT coach >.<
This is so ***ing stupid, why can't you prepare, scout, anticipate a SMART STRATEGY from your opponent in ACE match??? Every single time this happens and every single time it works, fuxck! Explain to me that?
On August 18 2012 18:15 Tsubbi wrote: those were the most obvious dts, wtf jd!?
Honestly, it was a really weird build to get DTs out fast while not taking the 4th gas. I've never seen this before. It's scoutable (just from the zealot count), but it might have been something cooked up in KT Labs that Jaedong didn't know how to read. It's a cute build, and I look forward to dying to it on the SC2 ladder ;_;
On August 18 2012 18:15 Tsubbi wrote: those were the most obvious dts, wtf jd!?
That would have been the greatest starsense ever to know that would be DTs. 3 Gases with only 1 of the nat gases taken while pumping zealots would be a far more likely candidate for a mass warpgate build, which is what JD prepared for. Had he taken the other nat gas I would have expected to see him prepare for DTs though. Very smart build by KT, probably why Stats was smiling haha

First, KT needs to pass Stars. Pretty simple: Khan > Stars tomorrow and then KT beats Stars in the final week. That moves KT ahead of them into 6th.
Need STX to go 1-1 or 0-2. They place ACE (should be win) and CJ (should be loss). A 0-2 would put KT in 5th if they win out, but more than likely a 1-1 from STX.
Ace to beat SKT1. If KT wins out and Ace upsets SKT1, then KT will move above them and into 4th.
Also can root for CJ/Khan to destroy T8 in the final two games and KT wins the last two to move pass them.
Simply, root for CJ/Khan to destroy everyone and hope KT can win the final two. KT has a good shot of making it if they win the last two and CJ/Khan do decently.

I still think that T8 coaching made a blunder there letting JD play, Baby or anyone could have been so cunning. Everyone anticipate JD in the ACE. That OZ coach has never been smart now it's T8 that suffers

They did the same in oz back in bw and jaedong was a fucking monster. He lost 2 ace matches in a row not a big deal, but this reminds me a lot of bw days when it was always jaedong in ace + his individual leagues. So I can agree with the decision.
Jaedong isn't afraid of being sniped. Thats how he learns his mistakes and strives for perfection! Sniping is when someone does research on his play and try to exploit certain situations and he learns to deal with it all

This is not always about one player and never should. It was possible to snipe even Flash in his prime, remember?
It is good for T8 coaches to start using their brains in critical situations at least. Having sent Baby or any other could have shuffled the cards. But honestly, what is more important is why not prepare a good build for the ACE match? Why not be paranoid and send 2 overlords to scout the shit out of your opponent? Nah, these little things is what defines a victory.
I would not be so raging if JD lost in straight battle, but dropping a game to some Stats funkiness, laughing in anticipation of an easy win, this is what infuriates me most.
Wow... too bad we can't make a Jaedong 8 minutes meme. Stats is proving that he's a more worthy ace than Flash this season(at least). I hope KT sticks to him. Flash is still making many questionable decisions in SC2 games.

You know, at various times we've seen players like Flash and JD get burned out on constantly being sent out in ace matches. The point of T8 was to hand-pick the better players of disbanded teams (and stop the scene from completely unraveling), and yet here we are watching JD sent out twice every match. It's Jaedong Oz all over again. Did they really think sending him out so often would always yield victory?
