Ah yes, I'm wondering if you are planning something sneaky since he probably knows your style...
And does this mean you are for RuSh?

These Canadians must be up to something.
Good luck to all involved!

Seoul.fm now playing // Get out JYJ
Anyway, I just stumbled upon this as I am very bored lately browsing at 3:00 am EST and wands if you want I can TvP you on all these maps for practice, because I don't think terrans deserve to win any titles.

MEH, i still think rush is not C+.Playing 2 races and having no losses vs players of your rank...

Yo guys, I just want to say.. I totally see your point now, letting Rush play in this tournament. I just saw the games of him vs Action and yeah, that guy is so bad. Look at the way that noob expands all over the map vs a C+ terran with great ladder stats. Not to mention his stupid decision making and aweful control, pshhhhhh, never seen a C level player play so bad in my life. Anyway, gj Action, you still did good man, as for me I played crap, but hey, Wands already made B- during the ladder stage so I gues there's no doubt he is a C level player. But yeah, despite all, I wish you finalists gl and make some good C level games for us! Me and FAT-tion are going to try and entertain you guys, right fat ? OD ftw, shoutout to all my clanmates!
+ Show Spoiler +I hope you guys all know I'm taking the piss right now and I'm not serious..

i still think Action is B- standard. he had like 75% winrate C+ . all the Cs basically knockout by Bs . not being sore but just saying =P

PS Glow, I personally think Action is awesome and he can be indeed B terran if he wants to. It's just he doesn't play enough to do that, but oh well. Don't feel cheated by him, you guys had some pretty close games and I don't think you were at your best. But yeah, I mean Rush and Wands are the shit, we all got owned by them so..

Stratos so bm ...

This whole thing made me seriously consider going to the D-ranks league, saying "I'm about D/D+ I guess", crushing everyone, then going "Well, I improved over the course of the league cuz I practiced so much lol", because sorry, but that's the way I see this. Ugh. There, I'm hyped now.

Ugh. There, I'm hyped now. Except, the D ranks players didn't actually practice... WandS played a ton of ladder games for the ladder stage and both of these players have been helped by semi-pros all the way through the stages of this tournament... So, it's really no surprise that they're in the finals.

It really hurts me that I get no credit for the time I invested in practicing and preparing for this league. From March 22 when the ASL league was announced up until now which is almost 3 months now - I played 1470 games. This also does not count the time I put in for my own analysis of my loses, the endless replays/vods of other players I watched, and chatting to other players on where I could improve and what I should do on certain maps.
At the start of the ASL league ladder stage - there were many people who were better than me and many more who were evenly matched with me. So I could fairly say then that I was C/C+ range at the start of the league. I'm not sure, but I think a lot of people dislike the BOSS team and I am thrown in the same basket as them which is unfair. I joined the team 3 weeks ago because I felt I could further improve my game with their help. If people can tell me some bad rep about them - then please tell me because I don't want to be in that team then.
Or maybe people just dislike me which ultimately sucks - but I guess I have to stay strong and take the criticism which is hard for me...

Don't be mistaken, very few people are placing you in that category, we all are quite happy to see the effort you've put in and anyone with any sense at all knows how much effort you've put into this.

WandS I have to say I was extremely happy to call you clanmate at dM after seeing you improve lately. During Ladder you and I were nearly equal skill wise but after watching this and your games vs Alfio I can see you have far surpassed my expectations. I wish you the best of luck vs Rush and I hope you take the whole thing down.

I want to congratulate everybody that played in this league, it was a lot of fun after all. Big thanks to Shimy for everything he did throughout this tournament, it was perfectly organised and he did everything he could to make it more exciting for all of us. Thanks to the casters, the sponsors and everybody that helped to make this happen. I'm glad I took part in this despite some things that were not clear to me and having my suspicions about some of the players. Maybe I just want to lay down my final opinion about the finals in particular without joking about it. It is my final opinion about the eligibility of both players to play in this tourney. After playing with Wands during the ladder stage, reading his blog and well seeing that he really did put a lot of effort for this league and played huge amounts of games I think he really improved a lot during the ASL and therefore reached his B- rank. So I want to congratulate him for that, he did a good job and is probably the only player that improved from C to B rank during this tournament. Rush, on the other hand, (and I will say this being absolutely sure about it) was at least a B rank player way before this tournament started. His games confirm that, especially the semifinals and finals. That's all I wanted to say, gg's all!
|
|
It is finished! Congratulations and thank you to all of the players!
Spoilers: + Show Spoiler [NoisE Amateur StarLeague Winner] +
I'd like to firstly thank the fine sponsors of the tournament: NoisE, Nebopolis, and Sayle for all of their contributions to the league and their outstanding support. Absolutely none of this would have been possible without them.
I'd also like to thank the truly dedicated staff that helped bring this tournament to a whole other level that none of us really expected it to be at! Those people are: Eywa- and LRM)Game for their extraordinary help, advice, and all the behind the scenes stuff that kept the tournament running smoothly and awesomely if I do say so myself.
I'd like to thank Quirinus, Zimp , Pholon, CobaltBlu, and LRM)nOoNe for their time and efforts that were put forth. I kind of put some loads on them that weren't always ideal, but they always pulled through and helped me out insanely much. Quirinus has done some amazing work spreading the ASL all through Liquipedia, archiving every stage of the tournament and also being there to ref when others are absent. I'd also like to thank Zimp especially for the countless counter abuse he has done and all that he has done.
I want to extend a huge huge HUGE thanks to Shiroiusagi as well. Her beautiful graphics have definitely been tremendous throughout the whole ASL. I have always given her stuff on very short notice, yet, time and time again she pulls through exceeding my expectations! I really appreciate her work and everyone should make a point to send her a huge thank you!
And last, but ABSOLUTELY NOT LEAST, this event has been brought to you by some amazing and always helpful people we know as casters. Thank you so much EleGant, L_Master, and Hacklebeast for all of the truly brilliant casting you have brought to the league! Always exciting and epic casts as I am so lucky to have the finest Foreign Brood War has to offer.. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Of course, none of this would not have been as popular if it weren't for the fans! I thank each of you for tuning into the casts every week! I really hope you enjoyed it as you followed players through different stages and saw how great these C rankers can be! I'd like to also tell everyone to keep their eyes peeled for upcoming content regarding the ASL in the following weeks!
I'd feel really bad if I left anyone out, so just thank you to everyone! I really, really do appreciate your support through this entire thing and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did!
Sincerely, Shimy
