But fighting Mutas would be insanely difficult because of no range upgrade. Zerg should never lose to Terran in Vanilla That's the theory, but you also need to figure that Terran is almost 100% certain of muta (since no lurker openings), and can thus overprepare. I expect to see some 2port wraith strategies as well, or hopefully something crazy like a science vessel rush. Protoss mid-game army sounds like it would be super strong agianst Zerg, but Protoss also needs to build many cannons to compensate for lack of sufficient anti-air .. Possibly enough to give the Zerg a macro advantage. Protoss does seem like it'd have an advantage in terms of fights though. This actually sounds a lot like SC2 PvZ, actually, which is not the best matchup in that game ![]() Terrans will die to Carriers lol. Or we'll get some sick lockdowns ![]() But what I'm really hoping for is something like a protoss getting a fast stargate and not realizing until in-game that there are no corsairs.

Basically the only good transition out of it is into marine medic. Without medic it seems kind of shit. Science vessel rush would probably be better but you still cant really stim to defend good muta control

Snowfantasy addresses the 2port issue pretty well Honestly .. even if Terran survive with a lot of turrets and get out fast Vessels, its not like Terran can do anything about the HUGE problem of Zerg's economy going out of control. Pre-Vessel, 11 mutas by themselves can do so much damage solely through micro since Terran can't exactly spam stim to catch the Mutas, After Vessel, Zerg's economy would probably be strong enough to overwhelm the Terran through sheer macro, while Terrans would find getting a third and beyond very very difficult. Mech wouldn't fare much better because of no range upgrade to fight Mutas or Gaurdians .. Hope I can be proven wrong and see the Terrans own Zergs ![]() This actually sounds a lot like SC2 PvZ, actually, which is not the best matchup in that game ![]() Protoss could probably afford to leave 1-3 Archons in their base while they move out if Zerg goes for mass Muta .. Biggest problem for Protoss is inability to scout past the early-game, so they'll have to overcompensate in defense. I think it'll largely depend on the map. If the map allows for Zerg to get another natural and do a 4base macro style, it'll be better for Zerg because they can force a lot of cannons with Mutas, while droning/teching insanely hard to get a good enough economy/tech to fight Protoss. On maps where Zergs don't have that free fourth .. not sure if Zerg would be able to stand against the midgame army lol Or we'll get some sick lockdowns ![]() But what I'm really hoping for is something like a protoss getting a fast stargate and not realizing until in-game that there are no corsairs. roflmao yea Lockdown would be pretty sick xD We'll see what happens ..

On maps where Zergs don't have that free fourth .. not sure if Zerg would be able to stand against the midgame army lol The maps are the original Blizzard ladder maps for Starcraft vanilla; they predate KeSPA and their map design entirely. Dire Straights is an island map, and Proving Grounds doesn't even have a natural.

Mutalisks were OP in vanilla and muta stacking hadn't even been discovered yet lol.
