Message from the sponsor: "Hey everyone! Continuing my tradition of offbeat tournaments that end up named after me, I thought it'd be fun to take a look back at Starcraft the way it was originally released: broken as all hell and with really "awesome" maps. Technically, we're not doing the original patch 1.00 version, but we're still going back to a time when there were no medics to heal marines, making stim much more painful to use. When hydras couldn't morph, there was no range upgrade for goliaths, and dark templar were campaign only. Indeed, the two units Bisu revolutionized PvZ with are both missing! These changes are going to reward the player best able to adapt to them, as the Ribbon Classic rewarded old-timey strategies. I look forward to see both brilliant, creative play, and hilariously bad ideas that sounded good in theorycraft. Either way, it's sure to be entertaining." - Ribbon
