Also, I think you're messing up the semantics of my statement. He didn't play terribly at all as in, he didn't play to the point of being terrible. In other words - quality wise instead of quantity wise. He played unfortunately. Not terrible. Stop putting words in my mouth. he played pretty badly - i'm usually very generous to T players but building the bunker out of range, being indecisive about his push, failing to repair the burning cc, etc. were all very bad. his reactions were good Bunker range was a mistake - not a critical game maker. Sea effectively neutralized 12 nex and more - he could've easily destroyed the nexus if he wanted to but chose to play it safe and retreated his scvs very early upon seeing dear would probably not overextend his probes to defend it. Also - positioning the bunker was to surprise dear - it wasnt in sight range. I'm actually shocked on how so many people don't realize or address this. The push, again, was not indecisive - how can he push when dear had such an army movement? Which push btw? Because i would outright dismiss you if you were talking about the initial stages where an ARBITER was out and Sea was just building his port. Assuming the other points of the game, recall into natural counter - his backdoor force was taken out. You really have to put yourself in terran mindset. When the toss isnt playing standard big block army style especially, how in the world can you push? I already addressed the CC - there was no way to save it, sea had CHOSEN to abandon it. Although he could've theoretically had more assets to win had he saved it, he made the strategic decision to abandon a lost CC and chose to focus on the front. That's not a players fault, it's a choice he made and an unlucky outcome. That's sea. good, but unlucky. i disagree. destroying the nexus would have been a big deal. it's the difference between being ahead and being behind. as for what you say about the bunker placement - that doesn't matter - dear didn't have any units yet! if that was the reason behind the dumb bunker placement, it's just a dumb reason. everyone else who bunker rushes 12nex puts it in range. there's no reason sea shouldn't have. as for the push, your army isn't doing anything when it's walking back and forth between the other guy's base and your own. whether he should have pushed or not pushed, he definitely shouldn't have vacillated. as for the last thing, saying he made a choice doesn't make it a good choice. sigh. Sea. doesnt. know. that. other tosses make in range bunker rushes becuz their scout isn;t right on the first try. something sea happened to do. sea didnt scout ANYTHING in dears main. how the heck would he know unit comp or gate count or whether he went for core? he didn't vacillate. he came out. retreated when arbs came out. split along with toss split. with vessel pushes out. recall happens. goes to nat. splits. dear nat counters. as for the choice, any terran basically lost that cc. your army is out in the center and u think u can save a cc? remmeber recall was super early researched? even the commentators were talking about dear's decision to go to the farthest possible place sea could take care of the recall. there's just no way to make the bad bunker placement make sense. the reason for the bunker placement is to put it in range of the nexus so it can take it down. there's literally no other reason. what happened was that he sat there waiting for goons to take it down. that will happen every time and there will be nothing to do with the marines and the bunker. it will be wasted resources that way. it seems like you want to make it seem like sea was unlucky when what really happened was that he made decisions with a low probability of working out. sure, we can conceive of situations where they might have been good decisions, but in the main they wouldn't have been and that's a big reason why they turned out not to be. last thing ill say but it seems u pretty much abandoned the other myriad of reasons sea didn;t play well and now really focusing on the bunker thingie. i guess making the overarching claim that "it doesnt make sense" seems to cut if for you but literally, there is no reason to jeapardize his bunker rush when he got it first scout. the bunker is for safe pressure and neutralization. first scout made it good enuff that sea can smoothly transition to rax expand without eocnomic damage. why should he risk his scvs and mining time when he has the upper hand on scouting? building in range = the possibility of pulling probes and a lot. Something he couldnt defend with 1 scv at the time. aaaaand putting words in my mouth again. im pretty sure u cant defend a very early recall on the back third of electric circuit when ur army is out on center. when u find out how to disprove that, even in the face of the commentators' words, pm me. until then, nt and happy new year! | ||
