Protoss seems to be kicking ass this season in general, be it in the individual leagues or the proleague.

Anyone surprised? Really? '08 year of Protoss, '09 year of Zerg, '10 year of Terran, '11 year of Protoss??? I think the map makers are doing this on purpose.

i don't see any glaring imbalances tho. it just seems all zergs cept hogil and shine all braindamage and can't make hydras.

Yes it was mostly Flash in '10 but Fantasy also had a good year and Light and Sea both did well, remember Light in last winner's league?
