What's better? Being economically crushed by a turtle zerg with a million hatcheries/expos by just sitting back and trying to defend, or try something risky to win the game. Stats really didn't play that poorly. Could he have played better? Yeah, but PvZ is pretty unforgiving.

Could have harassed better though and that he didnt have air control was probably the biggest problem. Dont know if he lost many sairs unnecessarily though

The game honestly looked like it could go either way when stats successfully established a third and had his large army intact. At that point, Z had 4 bases. Dead even. Stats caused some loss of mining time with his DTs, so even though DTs didnt do much physical damage, it delayed hydra. But very good burrow counter to DTs by Hydra, I like. The real valid criticism one can make of stats is maybe he went too zealot heavy, and therefore had no dragoons to oppose the guards, which had enough time to deal significant damage to stats. I won't bash the last all-in too hard, because he needed to deal damage there and then, and had no choice... Its better than typing gg before trying. Hydra played well, especially with the multi-pronged counters. GG edit*: okay the dragoon thing maybe made no sense.. since hydra had no lurkers (?)

Well, it didn't help that he stormed nothing twice and his own units once in the first game and sent his whole army to fight sunken colonies in the third. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that he didn't play very well. But Hydra does a good job of denying expos apparently. In the first game his expo denying ultimately cost him too many units but in the second and third it paid off.

Stats played well but his strategy the last game to bust the front with reavers instead of tons of dragoons backfired with those guardians and Hydra played well . It's always funny to me when i watch some epic scrapy game between pros trying out different things and people here start calling them terrible and D+ level when they are probably D level at iccup themselfs .

But the thing is he wasn't economically behind, it was 4 base vs 4 base, and the other main was almost undefended, he went for the nat with 5 sunkens.
