What do you mean he wasn't economically behind? He was way behind ... Hydra had insane saturation and was even in food and had map control. Just because it was technically 4 base versus 4 base doesn't mean you can just blindly say "# of P bases = # of Z bases so P's ahead". Every single one of Stats' bases other than his main was harassed heavily at one point during the game (even before he did the trade at the end where he just gave up his 4th). There was no way Stats could deny Hydra from taking bases like wildfire without giving up bases of his own because he never achieved the Reaver/HT saturation (partly because his natural gas kept getting destroyed) to roam the map while still being able to defend his expansions. Basically maybe Stats' choice of location to all-in wasn't optimal but Zerg had more than one Nydus connecting both bases so I don't think it would have mattered that much. Stats basically chose to attack before the tables completely turned and the slow flood of Zerg death overwhelmed him, but it was already too late (and I don't think he really ever had a window beyond a certain point). | ||
