I agree with the decision for game 3 100%. But I wish they found a way to announce it better. Watching Flash in game 4, I could feel a huge drop in ambition in Flash's play. For what could be the match of the decade, turned to an anti-climatic fail.
People say it isn't MBC's fault this happened, but I completely disagree. It is at least 95% their fault. They said Flash's heating fan broke down or some shit. In this day and age of technology, how the fuck does that happen to a top end computer running starcraft, does no one go over these tech issues pre match in a heavily tech oriented culture like Korea???? Some say it was a power outage, but they should have at least had some sort of back up power plan considering they were running a lot of things virtually and not on stage.
In summary, MBC planned the event to be held using high technology reliance and failed to take into consideration failure of technology at all.

Disappointing series. Hard to consider either player to be a winner after game 3. Any decision by Kespa at that point would have mentally crushed the other player. I can't believe something like this would happen in a Finals.

The decision IS the technical problem. THERE WAS NO PROTOCOL IN PLACE TO DEAL WITH THIS. They didn't watch any fucking replays or offer any type of compromise that would make the title legitimate. As someone earlier in the thread said, YOU DO NOT AWARD GAME WINS IN THE GRAND FINALS, EVER.
Power going out is astounding in fucking south korea where they invented electricity, broadband, and potato chips. Yes it is really mind-blowing that they fucked that up in Flash's attempt to win the MSL right after the OSL. But ok, shit happens, maybe north korea decided they wanted to fuck with them and set off some EMPs or something, it's not impossible. So, do you think that the richest, most prestigious eSports body in the world might have some god-damned CONTINGENCY PLANS in place for something like this? As opposed to letting the judges PICK who wins the game by picking what the korean fans voted for instead of actual starcraft??
this is a giant truckload of arabian horse manure

So in summary, fuck you MBC and your shit ass tech support, and a semi-fuck you Kespa, for forcing GOM to close for MBC to fuck pro starcraft up the ass.

Everyone should probably start writing letters of support to Flash. The poor kid must be questioning his life's purpose now.

MBC's fuck up damaged the best ZvT series ever, and that is pretty big. However, that won't stop me from appreciating Jaedong's play. He owned Flash on that third set. The same Flash who some weeks ago was obliterating zergs left and right and seemed completely unstopabble. On a 70% TvZ map.
Damn, Jaedong.

flash looked really tired in those games
Jaedong played really good those games. Both game 2 and 3 where he went 3 hatch before pool. On ultimatum knew the chance of flash walling in was high because lots of t's do that wall in fast +1 build. And for odd eye last game flash played vs kwanro he walled in doing the same build. And flash said if he was at 5 he would have bunker rushed but since he got 11. Game 1 was just flash skimping on turrets at his main but still jaedong proving again that he has the best muta micro. Flash did the same mistake he did vs calm though on hbr. He put all his rines in his main allowing jd to get a few lings and snipe the turret. Jaedong got a lot of rine kills from that. Game 4 jaedong read flash perfectly with the over pool. Was weird though was flash actually divided his group of 6 rines into 3 and 3 one at the back. At first i thought he was going to trick jaedong into thinking he has less rines and make him attack but now i think he put them there incase jd tried to sneak a ling through the other way. But i dont know why he grouped them together and then jd got the ling in.

Funny, every time kespa has done this that I can remember it has been complete shit unless it was a trivial circumstance. This isn't a "rule," it's a lack of preparation. There are TWO WAYS starcraft games can end - elimination or concession. Anything else is bullshit if the players aren't happy with it.

I dont know if anyone has posted this qoute yet but in case not, here is what Ret has to say about it. And tbh I agree with him.
All in all there was not 100% correct decision to make, but the one they took was the least unfair.
Ret's opinion " I'd just like to say I think the descision Kespa made to award JD the win was the right one. He was playing on a T favored map...in a very very favorable position after having overcome all the imbalances that make this map so hard to play ZvT on. If you put jaedong back at the start of the game it gives flash an advantadge again...So regame is a lot worse than awarding Jaedong a win for a game he would win 99.9% of the time. He was about to get his 5th gas...Flash was outta minerals in about 2 minutes....with no vessels or tanks to fight Ultras. m&m in small numbers would have never broken jaedongs base at 7 o clock. So all in all the only right descision in my opinion. "

I think Kespa made the right decision as JD was on 4-5 bases.
BUT WHAT THE FUCK MBC I'M JUST A HIGH SCHOOL NERD WHO LIKES TO WATCH STARCRAFT AND EVEN I HAVE A BATTERY BACKUP AND SURGE PROTECTOR WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, that was an amazing game. They should just play a best of 9001 on OGN today just to shove it in the face of MBC.

I feel that this thread has too much raging and too little praising.
Jaedong is amazing. Damn sexy ultralisk rush. Who needs lurkers when you can just produce ultras and own MnM so easy?

MBC wrecked what would have been an incredible finals. Unsurprising. That said, the games (aside from the last one) were still excellent.

Because type.b tried going Crazy Zerg against Flash and his ultras all melted to pure marines. When Jaedong engaged Flash before Flash wrecked the 1 o'clock expo, Jaedong's ultras got raped by the marines. Jaedong would have lost the fight at the 7 o'clock expo if he didn't have defilers with him either.

i enjoyed the finals a lot, the power outage definitely made it more memorable as well

I knew Jaedong would win but not like this. I wonder how the players feel about this.

Sorry, but I respectfully think you are being silly here. Given all that happened in that 1 hour shitstorm after the power went I think it is unreasonable, even insulting, to suggest that Flash deserved the loss for letting it get to him.
The fact is that what happened after game 3 ensured that no matter what happened next, it wouldn't reflect a true final. It would have been one thing if they'd just given JD game 3 and moved right on, but a 1 hour shitstorm with Flash's dad almost being kicked out? That's too much.
Again, I'm failing to see why this would have put Flash at any other disadvantage other than losing 2-1. If he were truly the better player (and many people in the SC community agree that he would have ultimately lost in Game 3 the way things were going), then he would have not let the underlying variables of the power outage, his father, and anything else that might be construed as stress-inducing to get to him. All-in-all, he lost because he was not the better player and Jaedong did a great job. I know it may not feel like a true victory to Jaedong to win in this fashion, but Flash did have an opportunity to redeem himself and achieve victory.
Are you serious? Having your father ejected out of the stadium who just wants to help you by telling the refs for a rematch, having your coaches pissed off with the management, having a win accorded to someone( although im very sure that jaedong had te game but since flash didn't gg im not sure what would happen) and you expect a 17 year old to have the mental fortitude of a god and overcome all this shit?
For goodness sake hes just a 17 year old boy. You expect him to become a god after such crazy stuff happened to you? Why didn't it happen to boxer, savior or whoever( i think there was another nate incident im not too sure)? Why did it happen to him instead? And for goodness sake, he finally reached another finals which he did not in a long long time. To add on to that, his opponent is jaedong, who is definitely on par with him in terms of skill level. The amount of stress hes experiencing at that point is incalculable imo
