If it got to the ace match, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hwasin there. They wouldn't have to worry about Oz sending in any tosses, so it could be a set 3 rematch. Kal vs Jaedong is going to be interesting to see how the players decide to play it out.

Frozean goes for a shuttle -> vulture drop rush, killing half of Sky's probes at his main. Marines try to kill the stragglers as they maynard to the nat. Frozean is mining his gateways.

Vulture raids continue unfettered at the nat and main. Sky makes dark templar but Frozean is making an academy and turrets all over his base so he doesn't get Hwasin'd.
Sky pushes out with a shuttle but a single wraith snipes it. The dark templar who were aboard left in time but die quickly to mines at the front of frozean's base.

I'm interested to see what Sky can do vs Frozean, who's proven himself to be quite strong (joke, ok?). Hiya has a good chance to beat Hwasin and if Sky manages to win as well, Hwaseung are looking good for a 3-0.
Of course, Jaedong vs Kal will give us a nice preview of what is to come.

Frozean shells Sky's nat from the lowground with tanks. 2 gateways is not enough to fight off 6 facs, but he can't macro more since he lost so many probes. Frozean takes 6 o'clock and sets up a contain on top of where the nat used to be. Sky gg's.

Such rape. Used to be a skeptic, but... apparently Frozean's not that bad after all. He keeps winning games, and definitely plays an entertaining flavor of terran. Being so aggressive on Turtle Point = awesome.

I'd guess that he hasn't been playing well enough after his recovery, plain and simple

Both players start out scouting in the wrong direction. Jaedong opens overpool and has his hatch at the nat blocked by a pylon. kal meanwhile went forge-cannon-cannon-nexus at the choke and the initial zerglings are repelled.

Kal's built a hidden second stargate in the back of his base. Jaedong's zerglings are better at repelling scouting probes this time so neither player has an idea about the other's plan.
Kal sees it now and builds a ton of cannons but Jaedong is pressing the attack. And the stream is quite laggy so it's like a slideshow right now -_-
EDIT: I guess Jaedong won? ^^;

I'm glad jaedong finally used a cheese in his ZvP. Playing high eco 5 hat everytime is not only boring as hell. It is retarded. Variation makes 5 hat stronger this was a good choice going into a bo5 imo.

Short rush distance and back expansion is perfect for a 3 hatch hydra rush. Intelligent choice by Jaedong, and good execution. Kal probably should've skipped his probe around the back way, to spot the lack of lair.
Also need a robo for some reavers, but w/e... I'm sure there's no risk to building only anti-air.

A failed 3 hatch hydra break is extremely difficult to recover from. Zerg has an unfortunate economy and no lair - he's kind of committing to this one move and discarding all other options, which is a hallmark of cheese.
A 4 hatch hydra, or a 3 hatch hydra that continues teching to spire, would be in a much better position to continue playing if the attack is unsuccessful, because they have at least one of decent economy and decent tech. But of course that weakens the attack.

Yeah if I were Kal I wouldve proxy 2 gate in the center of the map or some other all-in poker face strategy - you really dont want to give your opponent a feel for how you play in a normal straight up game (or worse - reveal a good timing/build that you use) right beore a Bo5.
I like how Jaedong, even after the corsair has scouted his hydra bust, doesnt immediately rush in with the hydras hes got. I always make that mistake and am amazed when he just sits there, getting his hydras and lings in a perfect line, waiting, waiting, waiting, as more and more cannons near completion - before rushing in exactly before they finish.

but can someone kind enough to explain why a hydra build is an all in?!
Jaedong is running on 3 bases, zerg defining quality is to replace troops quick, he has the economy, so if the hydra break fails, kal is still crippled (even if troops didnt loss much, he still spent alot of money on canons - so a delay on his troop accumulation.)
so why is that build all in? i just dont get it

Yep. It's one of the reasons I'm a Jaedong fan. He's the most patient player, imo. And that's incredibly difficult to be as zerg. Any zerg player knows there is a clock ticking at the start of every match, and the further along that clock gets, the less your chance of winning.
Even when Jaedong loses he never seems flustered like he doesn't know what just happened. He's fun to watch for his composure alone.

No map is easy to stop an S class protoss probe from scouting with slow lings. Even destination with ramps and bridges and those fuckers still can get in!

On Outsider, you can glitch probes through the mineral lines in order to scout and it is something that Kal is usually pretty fond of doing.

if you keep them even just in front of your base they can still read movements and from the defensive posture of your lings/drone/count ect.
And if kal was allowed to say close, he would have 100% read that and made jd's build look stupid.

Jaedong is running on 3 bases, zerg defining quality is to replace troops quick, he has the economy, so if the hydra break fails, kal is still crippled (even if troops didnt loss much, he still spent alot of money on canons - so a delay on his troop accumulation.)

He has no lair, and he is not running on three bases.
If you go 3 hatch hydra break, you more or less stop drone production after the hydra den, you need all minerals for hydras+hydra upgrades. If Protoss holds, he basically has at least double the amount of workers the zerg has plus templar or reaver tech on the way. No lair means that your mutas/scourge/lurkers will be delayed forever, so you have nothing to stop corsairs and shuttles and nothing to contain the toss. Protoss just rolls you with better economy and higher tech units.
You have to win the game right there, or at least you need to inflict serious damage with the hydra break to equalize the game.

I think the reason BackHo isnt appearing in lineups anymore is he was horrible at practice. I remember most of his interviews "I lost so many games in practice".
He's one of the few players who plays better on stage than in practice, meaning the guy had no real skill. Oz really cant afford fielding such a player.
