EDIT: I"M VERY SORRY IF THIS IS IN THE WRONG SECTION
Ok, so I've been noticing this happening more frequently.
First of all, I dled the Starcraft ICCup version with no first player scenarios, just the framework that'll let me play on ICCup. Everything is fine, I get to play, I get to be happy, it's all good.
Except for two problems.
Now, this one might be picky, but when I launch Broodwar, it cuts a portion of the left side of the screen off. I mean, this may be a small problem, but when I'm scouting, and I assume that I see my whole screen, and I click on, say, 9 oclock, I sometimes miss because I never know how much of the left side of the screen gets cut off. It gets really annoying. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem, or how I can fix this.
Now, my second problem, which is slightly worse than the first, happens when I watch replays. This happens now a lot on replays I download. I'm pretty sure that it's not the replay's fault, but when I keep watching the game, most of the time the units will stop doing ANYTHING(if the players make probes, they just sit there at the rally and do nothing, and minerals and gas keep getting stacked up), and I never really get to watch the whole game. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, or even if it hasn't happened, how can I fix this?
I think, by solving these problems, my gameplay may actually improve. Thanks to all of you in advance for taking the time to read my post!

#1 try doing a "factory reset" or screen reset from your monitor buttons, while you are in SC. This will force it to re-find the edges of the 800x600 resolution
#2 corruptped replay :D someone else can elaborate

Ok, so I just realized my right side of the screen is ALSO cut off... ugh and I have no idea how to fix it.
As for replays, I recently downloaded a huge replay pack(over 300 replays?), and I've been watching them... and so far, almost EVERY SINGLE PvZ REPLAY has turned out the same way... the game starts out fine, he builds gateways and core, gas... but then players suddenly stop doing anything, minerals and gas stack up and no battles anywhere. Is this really just corrupted replays, or can it also be a fault on my end?
And if anyone else can help me with my screen issue, that'd be AWESOME. Thanks again for all of your help!

Are the replays ver.1.16.0 or lower? Many of them don't work if they are. Also it could be a certain launcher that increases that effect. Maybe, maybe not, I just know there are tonnes of glitches in almost any launcher I use, whether it be in-game glitches, loading glitches, logging on the b.net, watching reps, or whatever.

Ahh ok, so now it may be the launcher itself. Gahh, it's frustrating, I've tried everything from reDLing/reinstalling SC and I still can't fix it. I guess I'm starting to understand the replay thing because, for example, the Draco replays, most of them are probably older than 1.16.0 so that may pose a problem. Thank you all for helping me realize that.
So now, I need to fix my screen problem... it cuts off a small portion of both left and right side of my screen T.T And it's really frustrating when I can't see units coming, especially on the actual screen, not the minimap... Anyone have any solution to this? Xp
Thank you so much for the advice thus far, I now understand the replay issue. Now one more issue to go! If there is no real solution, I'll just keep playing, and get used to it.
Thank you all so much so far!! ~| Icarus

If you haven't tried running SC(or the launcher your using) as an administrator that often helps many problems like this. Fiddle around with the properties of the .exe and try different resolution settings and privileges and stuff. If none of that works I'm not too sure what it would be.

Ok, I'm sorry, but when it comes to software type of thing(I'm a hardware guy T.T I need to learn more about software), I don't really know many terms or jargon(and I"m sure what you just said isn't that difficult). What do you mean by running SC as an administrator?

Icarus, right click on starcraft.exe and click "run as an administrator" that's if you have VISTA, what i want to know is if your screen cut problem is starcraft-specific? try setting your resolution to 800x600 and see if you get the same problem. The replay screwup is most likely a problem with older replays on new patch, i think there are programs which will help you run older patches on the same starcraft install.

Oh I guess I kind of assumed you were using windows vista for some reason, I'm not sure if there is an option to run something as an administrator for XP(assuming you are using that if not XP lol). Basically when you run something as an administrator you give the file full access to your computer and all that fancy stuff. Ex. Often when installing programs your computer asks you for your administrative privileges so it can access your computers registry and make changes to your computer and stuff. So what may be happening is when you run your broodwar.exe or starcraft.exe or chaoslauncher.exe or whatever, your computer may not be giving it full access, and it doesn't function properly. If you are using windows vista to run something as an administrator right click the file and out of all the options (Open, Open with, Delete, Rename, etc) there will be "Run as Administrator" with a little shield looking icon beside it. Click that and a message will come up asking "Do you want the following program to make changes to your computer?" or "You must allow access for this program to continue" or something along those lines. Say yes, and if it works, great, if not then idk how to fix it. To make it so you don't have to do that process every time if that does fix it, just right click on the file and go to properties>compatibility then tick off Run as Administrator on the bottom.
But that should only be a problem if you are using vista, if not then I'm not really sure what it is. Basically try messing around with the properties of the .exe.

All right, thanks guys, I'll see what I can do.
nttea: Yes, it's Starcraft specific. When I return to my normal screen, I can see everything, and nothing is cut off. But when I play Starcraft, my Starcraft screen's left and right portion gets cut off.
