Oh well, it doesn't look like we are winning anyway. We need a few thousand votes out of nowhere if we are going to win this one.

I strongly disagree. FFVIII was fucking awesome IMO. It was not my favourite FF(probably 3, 9 or 10 was) but it was one of the top ones.

What did you like about it? I didn't like the gameplay mechanics at all. Like, it punished you for leveling up, and Junctioning was too easily abused. I more or less couldn't stand any of the playable characters. The plot itself was good in parts early on, but after you confronted Edea for the first time, it became a joke IMO. However, from my experience, FF8 is normally a "love it or hate it game", and lots of the things I cite as bad, other people like. Meh.

There were parts I didn't like, such as the junctioning, but other things were good enough where it didn't make me hate the game. There were a lot of sidequests, The R1 trigger for a critical hit(well i wouldn't call it a critical, but whatever) was kind of neat. It kept you focused on the battle instead of just watching TV and mashing X all the time. The limit breaks were really sweet IMO, there was several for every character. Some characters were really cool as well I think. GF's learn different abilities/bonuses through experience/points/w.e which your character gets to use (I remember recover being so imba with leviathan(i think was its name)). There was ultima weapon and such that I wanted to beat so bad. I kept getting stronger and recruiting secret GF's until I was able to do so. The SeeD level was kind of cool, you get a constant flow of cash based on quizzes and some other things. I also remember the island closest to heaven/hell as well and the insanely strong monsters there. (marlboros and t-rexes in particular, sooooooo fucking hard to kill) It just felt like an addicting game because of things like that. I guess I just really liked it because it was so addicting in that sense.
