Well the game lasted to 11 minutes, and he didn't do "somewhat" allin like bulldog or something, he did a fast DT drop what is viable strategy on map like Andromeda, and he didn't kill you by it, so that means he didn't use "allin strategy" because if he did, it woud be do or die, and he done , didn't kill you and proceeded with normal game, so it mean's it's not allin, he won you fair and square PvT game. If he was Zerg, and won by 5 pool vs you then ok, but this was a normal game with some chessy dt strategy, but hey, you are a progamer, you shoud smile and smell it when it's 100 km's away from you.
And his mechanics were pretty decet, his overall use of DT's and shuttle, and macroing at home, and geting exp and spotting your reactions , I mean, it was enough to win vs you.
Backho did the same thing to Nada. Guess that means Backho > Nada? -_-
Backho then beat Nada in a straight up 20 min game on the Terran heaven Othello, Backho is retarded but he can win.

Yes, and compare Backho vs Nada fun match vs Fenix vs Idra match that was so important for Fenix and for Idra to prove he is good choice for a progamer... it dosen't have anything comparable.

I just had surgery the other day, been down in the dumps lately, and hearing "The Dans" Act like each other in the dinot fenix game made me have to stop because I was laughing so hard and didn't want to damage my mouth and bleed all over the place! hahahha, I love this. Okay! NOW BACK TO WATCHING IT!

Honestly it's not difficult to appear to have good mechanics in a 10 minute game.

the commentary in game 1 of dinot vs fenix is probably the greatest commentary i've ever heard
probably the only game in which i've been more interested in the commentary than the actual game itself

Why do these vods only work when they feel like!?

That's weird, because Idra started talking about his mechanics that he even didn't see (TvZ), basing his opinion from his PvT game... how come you didn't comment on that?
|
Idra was likely commenting on the fact that Fenix demonstrated poor mechanics in PvZ (which is probably mechanically less intense than TvZ), therefore Fenix's TvZ would likely be worse.

it only works for people they like. or maybe its a trick for getting more visits.

And I was commenting on how Fenix demonstrated good mechanics in PvT vs Idra in Spirit match.

I like how Idra only counts certain types of wins as actual wins.
At what point in your SC skill level are you allowed to discount your own losses due to the method used by your opponent to beat you? Is it at the level where you lift off the only building blocking your badly clumped tanks just as P is attacking or...?
You may say that Fenix stinks or is cheezy or whatever lame excuse but if he decides to cheeze early and win against a player who is known for preferring a macro game then i call him a genius.

Yeah, the vods aren't loading for me right now.

One more thing, it seems like people consider DT drop instant win, or easy win. Then do us all a favor and play as Toss and DT drop every game and win all tourneys and make alot of money.

You know, i always read people saying things like "if an all in fails you are behind". Well im pretty sure that Fenix knows that. Im pretty sure that sometime in all these pro/semi pro players lives theyve realized that a failed all in means you are behind. So going through with it makes you confident risk taker and also more exciting. I dont see the point in calling it noobish or unskilled.
Besides if you are the one losing then maybe youre the one playing "wrong".

Well... I feel like I say this everyday, but... + Show Spoiler +FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!! I WANT TO FUCKING WATCH DINOT VS FENIX AND SCFORALL FUCKING SUCKS THEY NEED TO CHANGE THEIR NAME TO SCFORNONE BECAUSE THAT IS ABOUT WHAT IVE BEEN GETTING FROM THEM!! Ok, sorry for that, but on a different note, thanks for doing these Artosis I really enjoy watching them and hearing what you and the other commentators have to say(especially Daniel Lee).

The point is that the all-in doesn't demonstrate mechanical ability at all, as the game is pretty much over, one way or the other, at that point. It didn't show whether fenix could keep up with Idra late game in a macro war where multitask and mechanics are important. It showed that Fenix could succesfully exploit Idra's lack of good turret placement and keep up basic macro while doing so. Sure, Fenix showed he could win. He didn't demonstrate that he could keep up in the late-game, where most Korean matches end up (remember the purpose of Spirit). Though from what I remember, his TvP wasn't that bad.

and yes, it was an allin. he was 2 base rushing arb vs 3 base, and he attacked. had the attack failed he woulda been left with less bases than his opponent pvt, which is pretty much instaloss, and he had less production than normal cuz he invested in temp and arb tech. if the attack failed, he would lose. thats the definition of an allin.
