Lately I've been trying to watch some old replays with BWChart, but it seems I'm having a bit of a problem now... All of my replays in 1.15 say they are 1.13 replays in BWChart! When I press watch in 1.13 they don't convert to 1.13 and it still says 1.15 in the bottom right corner!
What is going on here?!?
EDIT: Maybe I have to fix my exe. paths? Can anyone show me where to get these?
Why are my new replays still under old patches?
|
this is what happens to me too, it always says it's 1.13
|
Okay so the 1.15 are messed up... but the ones that are actually 1.13 1.14 etc. are NOT right?
Because the 1.15 ones i don't need BWChart to watch obviously

It's because BroodWar Chart hasn't been updated in a REALLY long time. I'm pretty sure the way it detects the version the replay was played in, is by checking the date the file was created (ie: The day a patch came out). Since the last updates was while we still had 1.13, the program doesn't know what dates 1.14 and 1.15 came out.
In other words, check the date of the replay yourself, against the dates Blizzard says the patches came out (I don't know them by heart )

Because the 1.15 ones i don't need BWChart to watch obviously BWChart hasn't been updated in a very long time, so the latest version it ever knew about was 1.13. And since replays don't actually store version info (its calculated based on the game date by all replay analyzers), it will always say newer replays are 1.13.

None of them need BWChart. BWChart just reads the replay file, you can still watch any replay if you have all the versions of StarCraft (just double click the executable in your SC directory instead of making BWChart do it for you).

Also, if you want a different program that would allow you to easily watch your replays in Starcraft, and has been updated recently so it has proper version info, ReXplorer should do the trick (its a Windows Explorer modification, so it adds nice tooltip information and such to replays as well )

Actually... My BWChart knows about .14, so you guys haven't even downloaded BWChart's last version... lol

And it it only a hint for the user so he knows in which SC Version to use to play the replay. BWChart itself is completely versionindependent. I think every replay >1.14 is shown as 1.14 in bwchart.

we need some1 to update it, WHO WILL BE OUR SAVIOR?!?!?!?!??

For update you need the source(at least if you don't want to spend much time debugging it in olly).
|
If the author publicizes the source, my crew and I would be willing to keep it up to date at least until SC2 beta begins.

Does anyone still keep in contact with JCA? Hasn't he left the SC world?

Has anyone figured out how to watch older replays? When I try to load it up in BWChart, it pops up with a message that says: "This patch does not need to be applied. The current patch is more up to date than this patch." ReXplorer pops up with the same message. Any help is appreciated!

I do have the old patches, Starcraft just pops up with the error message I posted above when I try to apply them.

Use the executables, not the old patches.
